With opening day right around the corner, what is your favorite part of hunting? I have 2 favorites that stick out. One is waking up in the morning and putting on my camo! That always gets the blood running. The 2nd is actually coming on here and reading everyones deer stories! I dont hunt with anyone so this is kind of my camp fire lol.

The enjoyment of hunting with friends/family and watching the wife's excitement when she harvest a deer

Sitting in the tree just as the sun rises..... and watching mother nature wake up each morning

The rush/thrill after the shot, anticipating walking up on the harvest

I like checking my game cam going through hundreds of does and little bucks half a sleep then a shooter appears and gets you pumped

My favorite part of deer hunting is being in the tree totally unknown (seemingly) by the birds/animals, watching what is going on in the woods around me and the whole sensory experience.

I knew it was coming and I'm right there with PT. It's the kill that does it for me. That is what I set out to do every time I walk out to a stand. There are a lot of other things that are achieved and experienced along the way, but to me the kill is the primary objective of a hunt. It's why you get that huge adrenaline rush when your quarry is headed your way. It's why you have to concentrate on controlling your breathing or you'll end up winded and almost hyperventilating. It's why you'd swear that your heart is beating so loud that it's gonna spook your deer. It's why you sometimes have to lock your muscles to keep your knees from knocking together. I've seen others in the past say that they didn't enjoy the kill, but I'm pretty sure that for just about everyone, your body is telling you something totally different at the moment of truth.

    - Watching and listening to nature waking up.
    - Although I don't need to hunt to do it, I feel a sense of accomplishment placing meat in the freezer that I hunted.
    - Watching wildlife.

The smell of leaves and dirt, and the coolness in the air.
    Watching wildlife
And the feeling of accomplishment when you arrow anything, not neccessarily a big buck, but anything that puts meat on the table

    1. Waking up the morning of a hunt, it's like Christmas I'm so geeked and ready to go!

    2. Watching the woods come to life in the mornin, it's like Heaven and I stay geeked!

    3. Watching a buck walk in to your position and I get even more geeked and so much so that I forget to pick up my weapon.

    4. Getting to come back and do it again the next day.

    5. BLESSED!

Favorite part of the actual hunt is definately tracking a deer and then seeing that rack or white belly laying there. That my boys is Christmas for me. Whether its a doe or buck. Nothing gets the blood flowing more than that.

The feeling of accomplishmet can't be beat.

Its the kill for me as well, nothing better than watching fletchings disappear into a deer's vitals.

I also enjoy the coolness in the air, and watching all the wildlife when they don't know your there.

And I enjoy the alone time you get while sitting in a tree, in the middle of the woods, just relaxing.

So many things, tough to pick a favorite.

Seeing that 1st deer from stand for the season is always cool.

The moment you realize you are going to get a shot

    Seeing the deer go down

The feel of that first frosty morning when you step out of the truck at your hunting spot
