for anyone using fixed blades instead of mechanicals, do you make sure the blades line up with fletchings or not? does it really even make a difference?
No need to line them up unless you think it looks cool, and that's even debatable in my opinion. It looks a little OCD to me.
Thats funny. Really funny thing is I just read this as a suggestion in a deer hunting magazine a few months back and thought it would be a waist of time. Besides, how many people out there that need that much help with accuracy actually have the skills to fletch them accurately enough to improve the arrow flight? I have to say the one they had pictured in the article looked pretty neat though. And yes they were ligned up with the blades.
As I tear off my fletchings and replace them with the NAP quickfletch, I'll line them up but that's the only reason I would go through the bother.
What's really funny is believing that the air that is parted by the blades is going to REMAIN apart long enough to have the vanes go through the exact same "air pathway"...
thanks for the responses guys. As this is my first year with my bow and first year really bowhunting i was just wondering if it made a difference. i appreciate the help. -Mike
Its all a mental game. If you think it helps then it does, if you think if makes no difference then it dont.
It doesn't matter.....It's all physics, friction and air density. Read up on some of these subjects as they pertain to arrow flight and you will see that aligning the fletchings with the broadhead blades is a non factor.....
I do simply cause when I first started coming to this site a poster (who isn't here anymore) took offense and went on and on an on about how stupid it was...so I cut and posted a few articles about it.. it only incensed him more... So I made the decision that i was going to keep mine aligned because of "Einstein." SB cool as all get out.
