Ok call me crazy on this topic but this is my question...... When i watch hunting movies and i see the hunters chewing gum i wonder...... So what kind of gum can you chew in the woods like is there anything to worry about when it comes to giving off a scent i mean i dont wanna go out there smelling like a pine tree cab freshener so what do you think?
they're probably chewing on the scent shield gum. its gum that actually eliminates any scent that your breath might give off
I chew gum-o-flage (the apple stuff) and sometimes I just chew apple/pineapple layers gum. The gum-o-flage is supposed to kill odor, the layers gum just tastes good. The reason I don't chew gum-o-flage all the time is that it's expensive and it dissolves away in about 2 hours. ... oh, and you're crazy!
Every person I've ever known that uses the Scent Blocker gum has told me that it's the worst gum they've ever put in their mouth. It supposedly tastes awful, has the tendency to feel like it's trying to pull your teeth out and looses it's flavor almost immediately. I don't see why you couldn't just chew a mint gum of some sorts. There's gotta be some places where mint grows in the wild and the deer have smelled it before. If you're really worried about scent control, you could chew on some pine needles (don't them though!). Not only will they make your breath smell like a pine tree, but they have high levels of vitamin C in them.
The gum o flage in apple is pretty good. The honey/alfalfa tastes like alfalfa and butt. The pine flavor tastes like pine and goat butt. (Okay, I'm guessing on the butt flavor.. but it's gross)
