Hey guys, I'm currently in the market for buying a new bow. I'm not looking to spend $1,000.00 on one. Im looking around 400-500 for one. I have a Ross Cr334, but I'm looking for something with more of a punch. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

There are a ton of mid line price point bows out there.
First thing is to find one that you shoot comfortably and that feels good in your hand. Second is your price range but also try to look at the bows resale numbers.
I know that hoyt and mathews (mission) have so nice price point bows that will still hold thier value pretty well.
I personally would stay away from the BIG BOX store bows.
But if I did buy one of those I would get a bear attack

You may also want to check out Mathews Mission line. Hoyt also has some excellent bows in that price range. I have heard some good things about Bear also. The Diamond Outlaw and Bowtech Assassin come ready to hunt and the accessories are pretty nice. What ever you do shoot as many as you can in your price range and buy the one you like the bast.

I second the mission Line. The quality you get out of mission bows is unbelievable. I swear by mine.

I was recently in the same boat as you. I shot quite a few of the suggested bows above and chose the Bowtech Assassin. It was the one that felt and shot the best for me. I am no expert, but this thing is amazing!

For that kind of money you can buy a top of the line slightly used or hold over bow, some may even be set up!
I bought an 09 Elite Z28 with an HHA site, QAD HD rest, dozen easton Axis arrows, stabalizer, peep, braided wrist sling and to top it off an SKS hard case off craigs list for..drum roll $500 shipped to my house!
So I basically got the bow for free! "shot Mathews for allot of years and don't miss them a bit with this Elite" oh and Elite has a transferable lifetime warranty as well!
I see brand new Elite bows on ebay all the time for under $500 And you can get a newer model mathew or Hoyte for around the same used a little. Archery talk classifieds is a great place to find a top of the line bow for much less!
    Good luck!

Try the Parker Inferno I use one and it shoots better than my brotherinlaws Mission Venture. Has more standard features roller bearing guide, braided hand strap, better grip. I'm shooting 249fps 60lbs 29" draw. I told him to tryout the Mission but after shooting it I think he wishes he would have stuck with the Parker. Shoot a couple and buy what fits you best GL.

    You can't go wrong with a Z28 08 1/2 or newer. Gt500 as well.
    Hoyte Maxxis 31
    Mathews Z7
Mathews DXT is a great little bow as were all the switchback models.

If you look on the AT classified section you can find top of the line bows for cheap. Some used and some new. I've seen Bear Attacks on there for $450

I was in your same situation last year. Did alot of research and shot alot of bows.
Ended up buying a new, 2010 Elite Z28 from AT Classifieds for $550 shipped to my door. As stated abover, Elite has a fully transferrable warranty, so whether you're the first or fourth owner......you will have a warranty.
Cant go wrong with Elite......sweet bows.
Hunter, Z28, GT500 are all awesome hunting bows. Also check out the Judge or the Pure if you're looking for a slightly longer ATA and a bit more speed.

Check out the Elite Archery Forum for more info on the Elite line.
