I'm curious how long it takes everyone to get to their hunting areas? I have a 20-25 min drive to the land that I bowhunt. Sometimes I take for granted how quickly I can be hunting. I do consider myself fortunate though.
It takes me <5 minutes....I walk 50 yrds out my back door and im in my stand. I too take for granted how easy it is for me. However, i wouldn't know what to do i had lost my property.....public land?
Let's see; a month from today I fly to Anchorage (1 hour), then to Portland (4 hours), then to LA (2.5 hours), then to Brisbane (13 hours), then to Darwin (4 hours) then we get in the trucks and drive 2 days to get where we start hunting. So that's 24.5 hours of flying (not including layovers) and 2 days of driving. I'm pretty sure I win the longest commute to go hunting this year! :D Man, I just hope my bow makes the same commute I do!!
Out my back door. If I go across the lake it's a 45 min paddle, or 15 minutes with the new trolling motor. Rifle season is a 3.5 hr drive to the cabin in WI.
I can literly deer hunt right in my back yard , but i have 5 stands set up from 200 yards to a 1/2 mile from my back yard , and when i feel like traveling i'll hop on the 4 wheeler and go across the street .......lol
120 yds from the backdoor to the woods behind my house 7 minutes to my closest real hunting spot 35 minutes to a place I only make an appearance or 2 a year 45 minutes to my #1 main spot 75 minutes to my ohio public land spot 90 minutes to my property in ohio & the other public land spot The 2 ohio drives get anywhere from 10-30 mins longer coming home because i have to drive straight thru the city
One farm about 40 minutes. Another farm 3 hours from my driveway not speeding. I can make it in about 2.5, my dad makes it in about 3:15. Don't know how far from the driveway all the land we scored in IL this year is. Can't wait to check that out though.
