Its about time the Western states start standing up for themselves in the wolf matter. With elk populations being slaughtered at an alarming rate by wolves and the federal government doing jack about it, its good to see some elected officials still have some balls.

That is awesome for him to have a spine, but I'll be interested if this doesn't come back around to bite him in the ass.

Several high up people want wolves right where they are (obviously) and they may not like his stance.

I agree....but a revolution is needed in this matter and it has to start somewhere.

    I'd agree.

I've talked with some western hunters who have already said they adhere to the SSS method and stay out of this political debate. Right or wrong, I can't say I blame them.

WY Moose units have been destroyed from what I have heard, as well as other states and Elk are just the same.

I'd LOVE to kill a wolve and a mountain lion some day, such awesome predators that need to be managed just like any other game population.

Montana Gov is following in the footsteps of our Gov Butch Otter a few months back. Our Gov made it public that all Idaho State Fish and Game would no longer spend 1 dime on policing fed wolf laws and that NO game officer would investage another wolf killing! Nice to see Montana is following suit. :)

And a democrat no less?.. How did people think that the reintroduction of wolves would not reintroduce the problems that caused us to eradicate them in the first place? What's that famous quote about history being bound to repeat itself?

Yes Troy. I failed to mention that in my original post. I read about Idaho back in early November and then never started a thread on it. Idaho actually started the revolution and Montana is following suit. Hopefully more states will join in the revolution.

This is just another example of Federal intervention on State issues. Each state should be allowed to manage game species within their own borders. Hats off to this Governor! :hail: If Walker would follow the same path here in Wisconsin...oh my!!!!! :hail: :woot: :hail:

I have No doubts at all!! I actually saw a Cougar a couple of seasons ago. I had heard of sightings but was pretty skeptical until I saw one. I haven't seen one since, although I do see a Bobcat now & then.

If wolves start showing up around here I have an idea they better watch out for the Acorns laying on the ground. My guess is they'll trip and break their neck if they don't;)

Dont post your opinion to this subject on yahoo they act like they plan to kill babies out in Montana. I personally feel its good they are taking matters into their own hands and doing what needs to be done

The problem, like you saw on yahoo, is that there are people who don't have to live with these animals trying to press their ideals on to those of us who do. I have personally seen dogs ripped apart and killed by wolves, found their whitetail kills, followed their tracks while they chased deer. For someone in DC to tell me just to "live and let live"....you're welcomed to come see for yourself. Unplug from your computer in your high-rise apartment and come out to the woods....and then live here a while. Don't be a tourist...live in it and see if it's so beautiful and wonderful. Until you have to live with the results, you should not be telling others they have to.
