keeping broadheads sharp?

i was just wondering how u guys keep ur broadheads sharp and ready for the hunt

 

G5 makes a sharpener for my montecs =] works wonders

 

ok i have G5 strikers so wld they make a sharpener for that to u think??

 

they make a sharpener you can use for the strikers too but doesnt work as good on them

 

I start the season with them SCARY sharp (I even take the brand new replaceable blades for my Strikers out of the package to hone and strop them sharper before installing them.) I lightly oil them before putting them in my quiver and then halfway through the season or whenever I go on a trip I'll pull all the blades again and restrop them. I found that my Lansky kit (down to super fine) works well on replaceable blades.

 

k thanks guys i appreciate the help....i never used to sharpen em but i think even my new ones could use a good sharpening after practice

 

Once mine get shot into a target, even once, they are relegated to the "practice" pile. The blades get replaced before hunting with that head, or it remains a practice head.

G5 has a "flat diamond stone" you can use that they sell on their site

 

always good to keep them sharp
