Alright guys and girls...I know there's a ton of info on this stuff on here but I'm lost. I have been shooting mechanical forever but I want to switch back to a fixed blade due to some issues on the last few deer. Anyway, slick tricks bloodrunner 2, muzzy 4 blades? What do you think and why??? I know I can trust the fixed blade destruction and cut but what about flight and what do you think I will get the best reward for my $$$? Thanks

I've really liked the Rocky Mountain Warrior fixed broadhead. Flew well out of my previous bow. Pretty sturdy head. I've gone back to mechanical heads (for now) out of my Assassin, but, I have no complaints with the R/M Warriors.

I've tried a couple new broadheads this year. The G5 Montec CS helped me take a doe and a 9 pointer without a problem. I also have good things to say about the 4 blade slicktrick that helped me take a beautiul 10 pointer. The 10pointer only went 35 yards and he was gone within 20 seconds. I would highly recommend either broadhead.

    Some things to think about:
1.) Getting them to fly right is a matter of tuning the bow/arrow/broadhead. A properly tuned bow will shoot any broadhead at any speed so long as it is spin balanced on a properly spined shaft and the bow is properly tuned.

2.) Fixed, non-replaceable blade broadheads will need to be sharpened at some point. Do you have the skills and tools to do this? If not, get replaceable blades.

3.) When a non replaceable blade gets dinged the entire head is garbage. If it's just the blade of a replaceable blade head you can replace the blade and reuse the head.

There's lots of great heads out there. Just be sure that you keep them scary sharp and aligned with your arrow shaft.

I've taken a moose, whitetail and muly bucks with my slick tricks and never had a issue. I was able to recover my whitetail buck last year after a mediocre shot within a couple hundred yards and that is without hitting lungs or heart. My moose died after 15 yards and my mule deer died within 80 yards. All of the blades you mentioned will work well. My only issue I've seen with the bloodrunners is that they seem to be bulky. They put massive holes in animals though, but a problem with that is that you will lose a bunch penetrating power by using a large gutting diameter head like those if you hit something hard. I like how the 4 blade heads are a little more compact and put more of a hole in the animal. Just my personal preference though.
