was out tonight with the buck and doe decoy. had six bucks challenge it. it was awesome had a really fun time out. no shooters though. saw like 10 deer total. will be out in the am.
I shot a doe tonight sluggers were out today but I still got it done. My bro stuck a fawn (doe) last night. I skinned her before I took pictures didn't have a camera handy at the time.
Congrats on the doe Nate. I have been seeing a fair amount of bucks this week. They are pretty locked down so I am hoping to catch one cruising. Missed a nice 10 point (unseen limb) yesterday morning at 20 yards. Talk about a heartbreaker.

had a great incounter with a really big 10 this morning but he would not come out of the thick stuff. i think i have this buck nailed down as to where and when he is moving. all i need to do is pick the right stand. stay tuned!!!!!
Good luck rkloehn! Congrats Predator and WakeCow on the does! I've been out a few times now and I've seen a couple nice bucks but not in range yet. Hopefully I'll pick the right spot at the right time. The gun season starts Friday here in Illinois. I'll be going to southern Illinois where my families property is to gun hunt but I'll take my bow and bow hunt Wednesday and Thursday prior to the start of the season. The last two years I've done this I have been able to kill nice bucks both on Thursday the day before the gun season starts. There are so many hunters going into the woods to set up their camps that the deer get pushed everywhere. I set up by natural funnels and it gets pretty busy with deer traffic. Hopefully this year will be the same.
Yeah, I hope three is a charm. It won't be three in a row though. You probably remember I had my back operation in 2008 so I missed that season all together (for the most part) but when I started bow hunting the two days before the gun season in 07 it worked great, I killed a nice 8-point then again last year...same thing, another nice 8-point, both killed on Thursday. The property where I gun hunt is my families private land and it's right smack in the middle of the Shawnee National Forest (public land). The few days prior to the start of the gun season there are thousands of hunters getting into the woods picking out "there spot". Well we have enough land where no one is moving through and I think the deer feel they are safe and not pressured by folks walking by and setting up deer camps. I hope it works out the same this year....(fingers crossed)
Hey all, I'm still out there hittin it hard. I killed a nice buck with my pistol during the gun season but so far nothing with the bow. I hope I can put one down soon....it's getting cold out there now! LOL!!
I've been in Barbados and won't be back until the 14th so I'll have roughly 16 days to get it done on a buck.
Hey guys im still here! I've had alot of stuff going on in the last 2 months so havent been able to get on. I had 1 for sure pass through on a doe but let her bed down and went back the next morning to find that she was gone. I looked for the better part of an afternoon and still didn't find her. But now that elk and deer season are over out here and nothing in the freezer, looks like i'll be getting a side of beef to fill it with. O well better luck next year.
