Bobcat. The black tip on the tail gives it away.

Looks bobcat, but that is pretty big... size reminds me more of a lynx.

A cougar will swish it's tail back and forth like any other cat. You can see the tail on the far side of his body semi-curled as if it's ready to come back towards the camera.

The "black tip" referred to in another response appears to be ground clutter and not attached to the cat.

Also the size in reference to the buck indicates the cat is too large for a typical bobcat.

I guess the only way we'll know for sure is for you to get out and put it down to settle this.

    Good luck & stay safe.

    See photo.

I was looking at it when my 5 year old daughter walked by & said she thought it was a kangeroo!

You guys really need to get into trapping... :D

Half a second after opening the first pic told me all I needed to know. Bobcat, and it's not even close to being questionable. ;)

LOL That is the first thing that popped into mind when I glanced at the first picture.

Looks like a very big bobcat to me.

I betting on it being a mountain lion. It seems to be fairly solid in color. I think if it was a bobcat there would be some color variation.

I agree 100%, if you look closely in the enlarged pic you can see the spotted underbelly.

No question in my mind that it is a bobcat. We get trail cam pics of them regularly.
