I planned on shooting the 2 blade this fall, so I went out and bought the practice tips. They have been shooting great, tight group out to fourty yards. They only problem I have with them is that they seem loud (whistling) while it flight. Is this just the practice tip, or do the broadheads sound the same way?
I've never heard of this before. I picked up a set for this year so I guess I will have something to look forward to. I also have a set of fixed blade broadheads in my arsenal so all is well. C
looks like we are all in the same boat....i just bought them, along with the practice heads. Thought about trying something different this year. I havnt shot them yet, so i guess we will see. Would be a waste of about 50 dollars.
I can't speak of the two blades, but the three blades didn't make any noise for me at all. With that said, I did a test a couple of years ago and when you are down range of the arrow (as in it's coming at you) you don't hear anything. Also, if you're worried about the animal hearing the arrow... IMO that's a non-issue. The deer is going to react to the sound of the bow before anything else. By the time the arrow/head is actually whistling, there won't be time to react in a different way.
I'm sure that whatever noise you're hearing isn't going to be any louder than the sound of your bow going off, and won't effect the performance of the head. I've shot them a few times and didn't notice the whistling, but of course I'm half def so who knows.
I've noticed the whistling in my practice head and assume it will be there with the hunting heads as well. I'm not really worried about it though. As Justin and Dubs said they'll hear the bow before the arrow.
good point dustin, and I think i'm half def like JZ, i'm always going ha, ha what did you say, to my wife, but she talks to me from the other room.
