I was wondering if it was worth me purchasing these nocks because they are expensive. I have heard mixed reactions about them. I heard that they do not light up all the time when they are shot. Anyone have any experiences with them good or bad?

couple of my buddies and i have shot lumenoks . we all had the same thing happen to us. they dont light up all the time. so i swithed to tracer nocks. they light up every time i shot the only problem with these is the battery life from year to year sucks. when you pull them out to use them the next season only one out of the four work (if you buy the four pack) but they are really nice. you can see where you put the shot on the deer in every light condition

They don't always light up, but I am hearing a lot of good things about the new Nockturnal nocks.

Other brands include G5, Easton, and Firenocks.

Research them all before you buy. If you are going to spend the dollars, you wan't something you have the most confidence in.

I have never used lighted nocks before but know friends that do. I put my focus on making a good shot rather than watching my arrow in flight which may cause me to anticipate the shot, flinch or punch the trigger and make a bad shot.

I've heard alot of people say they have tried them all, and most say the tracer works the best out of all.

The Firenock for me. I have not been able to get them to fail yet. They are a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

I just put some in my 2216 bolts for my x bow , but had a hard time getting them to fit had to use a drill to make the shaft a little bigger to put the knock in but they light up every time.

I bought some Nockturnals this summer and haven't had any failures with the one I'm using. The other 2 are being used by 2 of my buddies and they like them as well. Very bright as well. Just my 2 cents.

I have shot the lumenocks for about 5 years now. They always lit for me with no problems but after a couple kills they seem to get contaminated and quit working. This year im making my own out of those lighted bobber lights as seen on the youtube video. I have made two greens so far and getting ready to make a couple of Reds. Less than $17.00 to make 4 versus $10.00 + apiece for Lumanocks. If im not happy with them after the season im going to try firenock.

I picked up a few doubletake nockturnal lighted arrow nocks. They have worked well during target shooting and I'm looking forward to using them this season. They will assist me with finding my arrow during evening hunts.

I never had problems with them not lighting up. I had one lumenock I shot for 4 seasons!...It had seen the inside of a deers lungs "quite a few times".
They are relatively expensive BUt are worth it when light conditions are dim-it is hard to see where you hit. I only buy/keep 1 or 2 lumenock equipped arrows in my quiver -I'll switch arrows when light is getting dim. No need in filling a quiver with them...

Nice review John. Can't believe I missed that. Makes me think twice about the lumenocks, if I was looking to buy. But I just can't get past adding that weight to the rear.

i bought 2 of the green and 2 of the red nocturnel brand. No failures yet but i would highly reccomend the red as they are MUCH easier to follow. IMO,

now Do you need to worry about the weight throwing off your accuracy?
