Well...My hunting buddy stopped by yesterday with his new baby. Bowtech Destroyer...outfitted with some of the best equipment. All I could say was " can I hold it?" lol...anyways...I got a chance to shoot a few with it and to say the least I was impressed. With my bow I can shoot my target and bury the arrows kinda deep but with that Destroyer...SHOOT!...the arrows almost did a pass through. I'm hooked...except for the price tag. Gotta save some change for one of those bad boys. All in all it has the quietest bow I have ever shot or seen shot...and he took the stabilizer off just to prove it. Just wanted to share that with you all!!
I'm still in that initial "infatuation" period with my baby as well... busted a nock at 30 yards today on only my third shot; wasn't even fully warmed up yet. I'm still blown away by how much better it is than my Ally, which was my all-time favorite ever before this. I can shoot them side by side, and it's noticeably quieter, and WAY more shock-free. It's also got a tad bit better string angle coming off the cams despite a shorter a-to-a measurement due to the much-larger cam profiles. I took the grip off yesterday in anticipation of my side plates arriving soon, and was very happy with how it felt shooting off the riser. My only complaint from the first day I saw, held and shot the bow was the grip... but those are easily enough changed out and now I'll be almost 100% satisfied.
I have shot one at the archery shop out by me. That thing is amazing. I own a bowtech liberty but would love to own the destroyer, it just isnt in the cards for me this year. Have to spend the money on the hunting trips.
I have one on order as well, I can't wait. Should be here in 2 weeks! Ill post up some pics when I get it home.
I just got my 340 last weekend and I'm in love with it so far, I just can't seem to get comfortable with the grip. It seems like a lot of people are changing the grips out for side plates. I've searched and found a few different options... Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated!
I didn't shoot enough to notice the grip...but...this weekend is opening day of Turkey season here and while we are in the blind I might just say " lemme shoot you bow" lol...so if it happens I'll let ya know.
I'm shooting off the riser right now as I await my sideplates to arrive. They're from Bob Lambeth and in a red/black combo for my Black Ops version.
I have been amazed with my 350. Not only is it fast, but it is amazingly easy to shoot. I don't buy a new bow very often, in fact this is my first new bow since 2001. You could build a WalMart between the capabilities of my 2001 bow and this one, and the one in 2001 was great for its time. Since it will probably be another 5+ years before I buy another bow, I am sure glad I bought this one.
I honestly think that the Destroyer could be a 10 year bow. That's how awesome it is. I'm really not sure what else bow companies can come up with but that bow is the sh*t.
Mine show'd up yesterday, I picked it up today. Got a date at the local shop (Rob's House) on Thursday for setup. I'll post pics shortly after.
Plans to drop off the boy at his grandmother.....check. Wing order placed......check. All accs read for install.....check. Yep I am ready to dress this baby up.
My brother has been shooting his for almost a month now and loves it. I have a marquis and it's amazing at how easy it is to notice the speed difference between the two bows. I still find mine to be a little more quiet and smooth, but for the extra speed you get I would take the destroyer over mine. It is one amazing bow to shoot.
