The season here in Iowa is a month long for archery tags so I only take my bow. If I had shorter seasons I would probably use my shotgun also. Haven't used my shotgun in 2 seasons and may not again.
This is my third spring season, but my first with two tags. I'm going out with the shotgun first, and then a bow if I'm lucky enough to fill the first tag. I love being out there regardless of the weapon. The shotgun comes in handy since I don't use a blind or decoys usually.
I learned to turkey hunt shortly after I learned to bowhunt, so the two have always gone hand in hand for me. We do have a LONG season here in NE so opportunities are plentiful. I normally get a chance to take a few newbies out with the shotgun though, and it's just as cool to watch someone take their first bird with any weapon as it is for me to kill one myself!
Bow only for me. I really have little desire to shoot one with a gun. I do enjoy being the cameraman/caller over anything else. I just like being out there.
Everything I have ever hunted from rabbit, squirrel, turkey, deer, and hogs are all with bow. I have never hunted with a gun.
