My names Kyle obviously lol I’m not very creative…SE Ohio. Luckily divorced. I have 2 boys 6 and 7. Also have 4 step children. One of which is a 12 year old that I’m taking hunting this year for the first time. Here are a few of the deer I have taken. I went lots of years watching tv hunting waiting for giants and waiting for giants. Eventually started shooting respectable deer and had a blast doing it. Nice deer guys! So I grew up hunting all over the north eastern part of the country. Primarily Vermont, PA, New Hampshire, and New York. I relocated to Illinois in 2013, and we just moved from N. IL down to to the West Central part of the state this year. All of my hunting will be local this year. I have managed to enter some decent deer in the contest over the years. I’ve included the better ones below.

They must be cutting for silage. Do you think the farmer will plant a cover crop after the corn. Some put in winter wheat to help with the soil. If that happens, you could have a great late season source. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

You are correct it is for silage. No the farmer has no intention of planting anything. They just put silage corn on every year for the past 4 years. This year was by far the best looking corn they’ve grown in years also so I was hoping they weren’t going to take it down early. I've, also, been captain of a couple of teams over the last few years. I'd prefer to let someone else take the reins this year. For introductions: My name is Jeff Martinka. I live in Central MN and bow hunt around the Willmar, Spicer, Brooten, and Belgrade areas for the most part. My wife and I will, again, be heading to central Colorado chasing elk during the 1st rifle season during mid October. I'm married, and we have two little girls that I'm trying to get into hunting, and my 5 year old is looking forward to joining me in the stand this year! I'm still working on my 8 year old. I've shot a couple of bucks in my days back bowhunting since 2015. Prior to that, I was mostly an upland bird hunter. I'm the only one in my family that big game hunts, so I'm learning all this through trial and error. The dead buck is my best buck to date, and the trail camera picture is "the one that got away." I chased him around a couple of properties for a couple of years, I had him standing broadside 35 yards away, but his vitals were covered by some brush, and no shot presented itself. That memory is still clearly etched in my mind! I've not seen him on the hoof or on camera for a couple of years, so I'm assuming he didn't make it through the 2022 winter. I'm the VP of United Prairie Bank and handle all the commercial accounts in our branch. I spent 10 in auto sales prior to banking, most of which were writing loans and the legal paperwork as the finance guy. Let's have fun and keep this thread pretty lively!
