    Hey John!

Where in VT are you from? I grew up and learned how to hunt just south of Rutland and my family all still lives between West Pawlet and just over the border in NY.

Roxbury, smack dap in the center of the state. Better deer hunting over Pawlet way or at least I should say more deer, but we do ok here in the foothills of the mountains.

    Great job, Blackbear!

I got some yotes around my house this year that i need to clean up. The problem is they dont stay in the yard long enough for me to grab a weapon.

Hawk One Tuah caught me mid coffee sip. Yeesh. Anybody taking any trips out of their home state to do some hunting? I have a Kansas tag in my pocket. The date for that is up in the air. Public land banging for a week and no cams allowed on public land anymore even though I never really used them there in season. Nobody else in my hunting group drew this year so it will be a solo trip for me.

Im staying in state this year. Have points built for Iowa and Colorado, and can draw those tags. Also put in for PA elk every year.

The last few years i took off chasing big bucks and just try and have fun hunting. Just shooting what ever got me excited. I took 8 deer with my bow last season. But once again the old trophy buck bug has bit me, so i believe its time to chase them again. Which means i will be passing alot of deer looking for that one special buck. Kind of all or nothing for me this season. I still plan to take 5 or 6 deer for the freezer, so no problem getting a doe out of me.

Since most of us have checked in, I'll start the intros...

I'm Josh, 38, married with 2 kids. I hunt small urban/suburban properties in SW Ohio. My goal is always 130" but those standards drop if my kids are out with me.

Josh, we might need you to shoot another doe this year. I know its not something you do much. If not do it for your kids! Haha

    A little about me.

My real name is Holt, and that's what everyone calls me. Im 43 years old. Im married for 15 years and have 2 daughters. Niether has the urge to hunt yet. Im self-employed contractor. Mainly residential home remodeling.

I've been bowhunting for 33 years now. Shot my first big buck when i was 30, and it lit a fire and has been chasing bucks ever since. Beforehand, i would shoot ever deer that would walk by. Here are a few of the bigger ones over the years. 20211006_111815.jpg 20181108_173957.jpg tapatalk_1479299969301.jpg 2017-08-24 13.13.46.jpg tapatalk_1484078220562.jpg

Nice, care to share what unit you will apply for in Colorado? I know some people dont like sharing that, cool if not. I go to unit 66. Usually takes 5 - 7 pts to get it. Im on the low end and iffy if i get it. Iowa I have 5. Was just holding out to go with someone, but might just do a solo trip soon.

We do 55. I've got 6 points in Iowa just because I would get turned back with 5 with my luck! I should hit Colorado next year and then if I'm lucky I will be able to get out to Wyoming the year after that. Do you drive to CO? That's a hell of a long trip for you.
