I took the kiddo out for a “scouting” drive around the property and saw the biggest group of deer I’ve ever seen around our house. 23 deer in the group and 8 bucks total. There were several good ones. One REALLY good one for around here. I’ve got stands 400 yards from these deer. While they’re on the adjoining property they like to bed on the backside of ours. I’ve got my eye on the biggest one for sure.

I’d be pretty excited if I had deer like that in my home area.

I’ve been on this property for 7 years and have never seen or had pics of bucks like those. They may move on to deeper haunts before season opens but knowing they are in the area sure makes those sits more exciting

That buck would outscore my biggest buck ever.

I’m not known as a big buck killer. The biggest buck I’ve ever killed was only 136”.

Big bucks are cool, but I just like shooting deer! I know how you roll LC haha. We need to have a forum bet with an over under for your kills.

Is school finally done for you? If so, you need to take that trip to a more target rich environment that many of us have been recommending the last few years.

This might be my last season for a while of exclusively bowhunting. I've been without a dog for far too long. She's 10 weeks old as of yesterday when we picked her up. Pheasant hunting will encroach on my stand time for sure, but they taste good, too. Plus, I could always train her to blood trail. [IMG][IMG]

Great looking pup, if we had pheasants in Pa that weren’t dumb stockies I’d hunt pheasants a lot! Good luck in your adventures! Just fun to be out and about in the woods/fields.

All legs and ears at this point! This is my second Weimaraner. Our first one was great. She finally calmed down when she reached the young age of nine. Watching a pointing dog work a bird is a blast! My first one pointed a turkey that, for some reason, held right in a tall clump of grass. I about pooped myself when it flushed with me about 3 feet away.

...says LC as he drops a HIMARS on the field, killing all 23 deer.
