I’m not sure about the rest of you, but there have been multiple instances of my wife and I discussing buying something and then having an ad pop up in Facebook for that very thing. That’s weird enough, but this I can’t understand. It has to be just a strange coincidence A few days ago I tore my four wheeler apart to work on the choke cable/carburetor. In the process a few of these little buggers broke: I didn’t worry about it as I put the quad back together. I was going to have to tear it apart again and figured I’d figure it out later. I had no idea what they were called though. I never said a thing to my wife, but two days later an ad popped up in my Facebook feed for this: I’ve never searched for these nor have I ever mentioned them before. I only thought about what they might be called and where I might buy them. How does this happen?
My wife was talking about her friend having a hard time finding a wedding dress and within the hour, I had wedding dress adds appearing. Happens all the time.
That's funny. But same thing happens to me all the time. All I do is just think about it and it pops up. Even happens once and awhile on youtube, as a suggested video.
Yeah my wife uses my laptop 1 time to order stuff, I get panty pop up ads on my laptop for the last year.
Hhmmmm......been telling hubby of these things a lot the past month or so. So now I just tell my devises exactly what I think of our government officals I'm now thinking eventually there may be a knock on the door. That or I should be worried about going to the hospital ( no convincing me that's not a concern for certain people) Trying to get a loan Driving without a dash cam Etc,etc....
It's due to apps being allowed to access your mic on your phone. It's legal and considered a marketing tool. Take the time and shut off mic access... Trust me Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
Go ahead and listen when they come up with a product that is nothing but cursing I will know it is based on me.
We are on boarding a product called Liveramp and it can tap into cameras in our stores that identify your actual identity. It even parses multiple possibilities and uses some other meta data about your purchases to narrow down with extraordinary accuracy, exactly who you are for targeted ads and other marketing tools. Creepy. You have no privacy.
Good luck with with me, nobody convinces or persuades me to buy a damn thing, send me unsolicited ads, makes the odds even higher I will buy your product, shop in your store etc.
I worked with one of the predecessor companies of liveramp 20-30 years ago. The data they had/sold on every person in the US 20 then was also scary...with everybody walking around the globe now with electronic beacons to identify them and their locations of habit (home, work, vehicles, acquaintances, etc) cheaper and smaller processors/storage and alternate id's (emails, ip/mac addresses, social media, etc)... As we say...no privacy.
Same. But companies spend millions of dollars for the other people who will and do. And make money in the end. Advertising isn't just a catchy ad on TV anymore.
