I am ok with it until they bounce lures off my mooring cover on the boats.

Last trip of the year was some of the best ice fishing I’ve ever had on upper red lake. Day bite was slower but the night bite was absolutely INSANE.

My hands are cut up from getting hooks out of so many walleye mouths.

Fish fry every day and everyone got to take fish home.

Our friends with the crappies were 50yds away from our house. They had 3 guys limit out and we didn’t catch a single one. Wild how the schools work on that lake.

Spring hole opened up a 12' wide channel from the island in the bay past my place, get to watch the otters take an ice bath and eat crappie, blue gill and perch sushi. They caught more fish than I did this winter.

Windy cold day, not going outside much. I figured it is a good day to rig up poles. Put new line on the kid rods, the ultra light rods, the regular fishing rods. I have no idea how the kid fishing poles the line on the reels gets so messed up. Youngest grandson will be ready to fish this spring so that will be double the chaos.

So we are starting a new home build and should be breaking ground in the next two weeks. As part of the home build, we have a contractor coming in to help us build a pond at the home site. We got to the site yesterday with the contractor to shoot with a laser and flag it all, it looks like we will get about 2 acres total depending on how much we have him dig out on the southwest end.

I’m pretty excited about this, the kids are young enough that it’s going to be fun to have them be part of getting this pond done, watch it fill, stock it with fish, and then enjoy it over the upcoming years. As of now we are planning to stock it with bass and bluegills.

I think you should expand to 5 acres that way you can jet ski on it! But really that will be nice to have in the back yard.

Took the family camping for the weekend. We were able to catch a couple bass shore fishing on a new lake. My six-year-old caught his first bass all on his own; he cast, hooked it, and reeled it in before I could get over to help him.

Battled crazy weather but managed to get a couple nice smallies and a good spotted bass. Best was 20 inches and weighed 4.5 lbs. 1000001912.jpg 1000001907.jpg 1000001904.jpg
