Happy wife, happy life. At least you can show her what you sacrificed for not going hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Gun season opened up this past weekend. I was able to get my nephew out with me for a hunt from an elevated blind out on the marsh. It was raining and windy but the deer cooperated. One sika hind on Sunday. I'll mainly bowhunt the neighborhood the rest of the season. Holding out for a buck from here on out. Keep grinding! Saturday had plenty of action but decided to wait until last light for this doe.
Heading out at 1pm to go to the family farm. My river lease big buck is broke up and with no other good ones I'm going to switch up. This shooting house is setup for a great opportunity with a rifle with tonight's wind forecast. At the farm any buck over 130 will probably get shot at.
Finally got a buck down. He’s missing his left antler, broke of below the pedicle. Looks like it’s been a few days or a week. It’s got puss around it. He’s not big but it’s an extra 50. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Congratulations on the Buck teammate! Glad to see that you were still chasing them. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

I wish I was better about checking this app. I’m so bad at socializing. Lol. I swear i’m potty trained though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry guys I kinda disappeared for a bit. Long story short neighbor shot the big boy I knew was there but never got pictures of. And he didn't find him. Gave him permission to look but after a mile of drip blood he lost the track. I have been looking for buzzards about everyday since last Wednesday. I did hunt the family farm but saw only non shooters. I hope the big boy made it at the lease. I personally walked the thickets and river treeline in the search. Lease it a mess right now from all the activity. Neighbor had this pic of him. Muzzle loader comes in this weekend... I'll be out looking again.
That's what i think too. Not sure if he'll be back for some time even if he makes it. This is the time of year he usually goes awol at the lease.
He's going to be looking for a food source and staying close to it until he recovers. Find that food source and you'll find him. I've always loved late season hunting. My second biggest buck was taken on 12/26.
@dmax4me ... does this buck look broke up to you? More I look at him the more I think he is just lopsided.
I don't see anything broken and it looks like a younger deer. Maybe a 3.5 year old. He's either been shot or hit by a car at some point. He will carry that trait throughout his life. I have a 2.5 year old that I call goofy. I'll have to post some pictures of him.
Looks like an injury to me that messed up the horns. Nothing with the gun last weekend, but doing a little pheasant hunting. Bow opens back up in 2 weeks here. Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
