Nice job man, congrats! I unfortunately had to drive down to east central Indiana for work for a few days so I probably won’t get out again until Friday, if I get home Thursday evening I will probably take Friday off of work. Keep grinding fellas, lots of good hunting to be had still! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Absolutely beautiful news I’m trying…honest I am I’ve been a late bloomer all my life Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Combine caused field fire I heard the sirens & commotion then got a text message from the property owner advising I best get out of the timber My location was actually safe but I lost a ground blind which was in the fence line to the west Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That sucks for you but at least you are safe. Blinds can be replaced. Hopefully it didn't mess up the hunting too bad for the future.
Well guys, it's not more points for the team but I shot another doe last night. Meat for the freezer since I gave my first doe to the land owner. I did see the biggest buck I've seen while hunting earlier in the night. He was locked on a doe though and I couldn't get him to come out of the thick stuff he went into to see what my grunting and bleating was about other than to scan the area quick and get back to his doe. He came out about 70 yards away and went back in about 60 yards. His time will come.
Naturally the cameras were very quite yesterday & so far this morning However…field fires during harvest combined with warm weather (it was 72° yesterday) are common but spread amazingly quick I’m sure the deer will return to the woods Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm in hail mary mode, firearm season starts Friday. Have a busted belt in front tire on my truck so had to drop $1400 on new tires. They didn't come in until this afternoon and had an appointment scheduled for Saturday at 1:45pm as that was first opening available. When they called this afternoon to let me know they were delivered, I asked if I could drop it off tomorrow morning as a walk-in and get it back same day, said absolutely. If they can get it done by 11:30-12 I can get an afternoon hunt in, otherwise Thursday will be last ditch effort before gun season. Still first half of November and seeing all the walk off field goal wins this week in the NFL, why not a hail mary attempt?
A picture taken by the property owner from the field fire I spoke about the other day. no homes, no livestock nor lives were lost…. Can’t say the same for a Muddy ground blind. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cls it only takes 15 seconds for things to change as for the deer Gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brett, material things can be replaced, lives cannot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! glad no one was injured; the woods will regenerate.
My cameras are showing the deer (doe) have returned to the woods as of this morning Property #2 has standing corn yet so I’ve been ignoring that…farmer advised he will pick that starting tomorrow morning at 0900 hours Firearm season ends Sunday here in Nebraska (thank heavens) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Still trying for my buck. Our archery season goes into January 15th ish. First gun season is Fri-Sun. I'll be out Friday, but with my smoke pole.
Opening day of rifle season in Oklahoma My biggest challenge might be keeping my teenage son awake…haha
Today is the first day of bear season. (Rifle) Archery season is over. Deer season is open on next Saturday ( rifle) 2 nd archery season is 12/26/23 til Jan ??
Guys - The rifle season starts Saturday after T-day. I will be out trying to get it done with the gun. After that, I will be trying with the bow for a doe...or a buck if I don't get lucky in rifle. Yes I'm defeated for now...
I was lucky enough to connect on a buck with my muzzleloader. I'll be looking for one with my bow now.
