I've been using the same vertical 3 pin sight for a long time. At one point I removed 2 of the pins and just ran a single pin sighted at 20, as that fit MOST of my hunting needs. When we bought the neighboring small timber, the now north of the road timber some 25-30 shots were now available and I added back a 2nd pin. I've learned I do NOT like horizontal sights but that I'd rather not have have multiple pins at all. For along time I struggled with eye focus while shooting, while getting glasses has sorted some of that, I still struggle because shooting with glasses sucks, wearing glasses out in the freezing temperatures sucks etc. I want to get a single pin adjustable sight and at first thought the redline RL2 would fit the bill, but now I'm thinking might as well get the RL 1 or Torch.
Whats your bow specs and arrows again? One of my arrow options is a 535 gr Axis with 50 gr inserts and 125 gr head. That should be going about 260+ fps for me, but I think I'll be hunting with a 494 gr arrow at about 275fps
406ish grain arrow, 24 grain nock, 100 grain broadhead. AAE MAX HUNTER with left helical. Magnus broadheads. Realm ss with 72 lbs draw. I haven’t chronographed it so don’t know how fast. They have shot well for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
what is the arrow? and do you know how long it is because I'm slightly confused by your answer example I'm shooting a 29.25 carbon to carbon Easton 6.5 at 9.3 GPI thats 272 grain 50 grain insert AAE Max hunters x3 = 22.2 grains nock 20 grains wrap 5 grains I'm 369 grains before a broadhead does your 406 grains include insert and vanes?
Oh sorry. Yes 406 is inserts and vanes. 29.75 length, carbon to carbon. I’m shooting black eagle rampages. I have a set of 2 dozen I shoot throughout the year. I weigh them and try to get the closest with the full set up to 530. Some arrows or broadheads are for whatever reason pretty light or heavy I had one arrow weigh in at 415. Some broadheads at 98 and other up to 103. Magnus are pretty close to 100 for the most part. Something I started doing a few years back is naming the starting 5. It’s fun for my son. He will ask which arrow killed the deer. This year is my favorite Red Sox players (my favorite team). So it’s pedey, papi, mookie, Lester, and schill this year. Next year I want to bump up to 80lb draw. It’s just so easy right now at 72 i don’t think it should be a problem. I will probably mess with it in the spring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vertical single pin is the way to go in my opinion. I will never go back. I set my pin at 25 and can gap shoot 20 to 30.
Sorry I’ve also been MIA lately, I almost ended my season before it even started. I was playing shortstop for my softball team and took a bad hop straight to my eye, luckily it was my left eye and my glasses to most of the hit. Even more lucky, other than a broken orbital bone, there don’t appear to be any issues. Docs said they probably won’t need to do surgery to repair the bone and there don’t seem to be any vision problems. Season opens up on Saturday and I’m still planning to sit the evening!
