    I've hunted whitetail with a rifle since I was legal age. ( that's 15 here )
    I'm 57 years old now.
Never had a problem getting our deer.
Recently a few relatives passed away and we lost our rifle area to hunt so we are switching to bow only.
Problem I'm having is getting deer in range of my bow.
I'm pretty good, I think, out to 40 yards.
Kill zone on deer size vitals at that distance no problem.
But getting deer that close? Nope.
I'm great at being quiet, not moving , getting camo'd up ect, but no luck getting deer to come in.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. The whole fun of bow hunting(to me) is how close you get. Stalking is very hard so if possible I would try to cut them off. Terrain pending set a stand between where they go to eat and where they come from to sleep. Where do you live and what's the trees in that area? Do you run cameras?

My advice is to set up in thick cover.
Deer move in a more predictable pattern in it.

I'm in Ontario Canada. Where we hunt is corn or bean fields ( concessions ) bordered by pine and maple/oak tree lines along the edges around the field.
    Thank you for the replies.

Big strategy here in SE Missouri due to the Ag presence is the ditch lines that run between Ag and hardwood. I'd find a ditch or a bottleneck on those maple and oak edges where the deer are going to have to congest down to a tight area in order to get too/from bedding and feed.
