They snuck back toward the house and just barely caught them as they turned around. That's a long while to hang out in the area winds are wild here.
The flock went away a couple of weeks and showed back up today 38 strong...big jump! Tried getting pics on tablet ,very bad due to zoom and trees blocking but those blobs are turkey.
Lol because you obviously have warmer weather than us those Jake's look comically skinny to me. Ours will be all puffed ,unfortunately, for several more weeks. Yesterday's group did something I've actually never seen before. They stayed out in that cut silage field for 6 hours straight. Now note cutting leaves pretty much nothing in the field. Even had it by now that would have been cleaned ,months later. So there must be tons of bugs and worms out there. Bless their tiny hearts if they spent that much time eating beetles and larvae.
It was a quick glance, thanks for pointing it out. Remember Im usually bouncing arounnd 15 things at once. Thus my constant going back to edit typo's. This though makes them look even funnier! For sure our birds are probably the same size under all those puffed up feathers . They made me picture funky turkey decoys...lol
Today we got up to seven long beards 8 Jake's and 5 hens. The most long bearded in a long time2 had hooks
I pulled a card. and got some great pics a few young buck some doe lots of AJ a night time owl in flight and snow turkey hens. Then I went through a slew of old pics and what a great watch. I have cataloged just about every thing here and man life is actually good looking back I'm a lucky person. look upper rt corner for owl...
Hubby and I completely stripped down my 20g mossberg turkey gun today. Right down to the pins in the trigger assembly. Scrubbed ,cleaned, wiped down ,compression air it . Working smooth as silk and all set for May 1 I was having an issue with the safety being stuck in off position, completely fixed now. I'm seriously looking forward to opening day
Head out to Nebraska this Friday for archery season for turkey. Have permission on some private land that I got a couple years back. He sent me a video of about 80 birds in his field the other day. Only about 10 to 15 were toms. Hopefully me and my buddy can both fill our tags.
Here is some pics from the last time i was out there. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Got a couple more good pics of the bird roosted in the trees with the sunset that are my favorite. I'll upload them here in a little bit. Leave out tomorrow morning to Nebraska. 15hr drive not looking forward to that. lol
