Imagine that Larry will be dropped off at the office tomorrow and I will bring him home with me. I love to needle my son and call him the grand dog. It will be warm this weekend Larry will put on some miles.
Told my son I bought Larry a toy like when the grandson's come and stay. Got a reaction from both kids on that one.:nana:

Brought the hellian to work last Saturday. He ran through the plant and ate everything he could find on the floor. EB58606C-686F-461F-B003-81C9AD3CA7BC.jpeg

Just looking at him I'd have to guess his level of mischief can only be matched by his pallet of color

I’ve had quite a few dogs in my lifetime. This one out does them all combined.

Tomorrow is A. J.'s heart worm check. We've been treating him 2 years now, pray he is clear and with little or no damage. It can take up to 3-4year for a worm to die naturally. They aren't sure how old he was when we got him 9 Mos to a year old. They say they could detect at least 3 adults when we found them. The shelter said he was clean but he had a cough when we adopted him and took him in for extensive/ exspensive testing. He definitely wasn't clear.

So We are back from the vets ...$300.00 later
All shots, heart worm check and a complete blood panel.
    A. J. Now weighs 77.5 #'s
The heart worm showed just slight ,so we are close to the full die off
Heart , lungs and muscle tone is great
    BUT
He now as a tick borne disease???? What!

They had prescribed Advantix multi for the heart worms so I assumed that brand would also be good for the flea and tick medication. He gets both monthly 2 weeks apart . I do not recall ever seeing a tick on him he has no fleas.
WELL, VETS just told me that Advantix flea and tick is great for fleas but ticks have become immune to the tick portion of it. Nice you've known he's been on it the last two years and now tell me. When I just spent 179.00 on a years supply last month.
So there is a heads up for anyone else that did not know.

Achilles has his visit today to get flea and tic treatment. We use the Bravecto that has seemed to work good. It’s $80 for 3 month 1 time oral dose. I also decided to get him the kennel cough pill. The vet charges $10 just to give him a pill orally. That place is a black hole. I wanted to get him neutered they wanted 430+ to do that. So needless to say he’s full intact still. Only reason I go there is it’s only 10 miles away. I need to find a different vet that’s a little more reasonable.

    A. J can not take oral meds due to his heart worm medication. They suggested a tick collar starts with a C but can't recall name.

    Vets are like Dentists.
    1000$ an hour.
Snap a rubber band on the balls.

Sounds like a money saving device all the way around. I often lament about the pile of $ I would have if I had just pounded my nuts flat when I was 15.

My 14 yr old girl isn't doing real hot. Older surgery is starting to take its toll on her back legs, loss of appetite, etc. Love this old girl.

Sorry to hear that your pup is ailing VS. They sure are man’s best friend.

I had to put my Lab down about 5 years ago. I’ve missed him every day. We finally gave way to a new puppy. Got her Saturday and enjoying the memories she has rekindled of my late boy. My son picked her out of 2 litters all by himself and she’s been really good. She’s a real “Daisy”… BAD23F86-A306-41AA-BF87-BE232F617043.jpeg

I am really torn about my next lab, it will be a multi use dog priority will be pheasants but there will be some duck retrieving. Many say for scent hunting females are better, but I relate to male dogs much better. Don't want to force a square peg into a round hole, I am not even sure a lab is the best for what I want. I would gladly settle for a good pheasant dog and retrieve ducks by kayak.
