Congratulations to all you guys!!! I apologize for not contributing this season and not posting much. No excuses, was a little trying for me with family issues and illness. I did take a nice doe in late season with my bow, but was unable or failed to take pictures. I'm sorry I didn't help.
Good to hear from you. Please make sure you send your name, mailing address and shirt size to either myself or @entropyfx so I can get your prize pack on the way to you.
Got it and sent on, that's everyone! Good work everyone, been a fun year! Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
No problem, we all get busy with our family and work schedules. Just don't forget about us this fall. We've got a Title to uphold and will be tough to do.
Did anyone have one that got away or one you're excited to chase this next season? Never too soon to start planning now! Already getting ready to frost seed a new area and gonna be looking for some sheds of a couple specific deer hopefully!
I have at least one up and comer to hunt next season if he makes it the rest of the winter. Also have several bucks in the 30's this year that may blow up. Being that the lease is a river bottom there is always neighbors bucks sliding in to surprise me the last week of October! Every year for the several I have had a big one to play chess with. Don't expect this year to be much different.
We have 3 that we passed that were 3.5 to 4.5 year olds. Hoping they make 140 - 150 this fall. I have some frost seeding to do also.
The biggest that I knew about got killed the second to last day of the season. He gonna get it scored but its going to be mid 170's. Other than him we had four big deer that should be no doubt shooters next fall if they make through and come back.
Got mine today! That was fast! I have a couple of 140" inch deer that I am hoping made it, saw the one for sure after gun seasons on cams. Doe population looks good, so I'll have less of an issue taking a doe next year. Got some big spring plans too, excited to get to work on the land. Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
Glad to hear I'm not the only one looking forward to spring to begin preparation for planting. I really enjoy working the soil and seeing the fruits of your labor. Definitely going to take a while to dry out.
I really didn't have anything big on my lease this year but at the end of the season I had what I think is a decent 140" show up. My lease is also a river bottom... bottom is a relative term on the Eastern Shore of MD, it's all low. We have a couple 2 year old deer that we let walk so hoping they make return visits. We are planting lots of browse and several acorn tree types this year. Definitely excited for the upcoming year.
Wow, usually at the end of the season the return to their home base. Did you not have pictures of him this past summer? I know we have at least 3 that will be 4-1/2 this fall, 1 at 5-1/2 and a 10 point that is going to be 7.
I honestly believe we had a doe make it to January without being bred. Several bucks showed up in late January and only stayed a few days. We've had a 150" deer live close to us. We got him a couple years back. Never found a shed and only had pics of him from October through December. Then he would leave. The year we killed him i finally saw him early season scouting. We have a tough time finding sheds on our lease. All this to say we have bunches of does but rarely get bucks making a home on our lease.
