Would like to try out some hog hunting in Alabama but no idea what’s the best way to go. Need southern area and preferably bow hunting. Been searching and looking into public but I would like to cut my teeth on a possible semi-guided hunt. Thought I would try here.

The public land that I hunt here in Alabama is thick and hilly however there are a good population of pigs. It would be difficult to get on some pigs but I don’t think it’s impossible. I got a couple of buddies that are in hunting clubs that are just over ran with pigs but club members trap during the summer. I don’t know of any semi-guided hunt but I’m sure they are out there. As for public check out lager WMA and core land on the river. This is in my neck of the woods and if I can help let me know.

If your not stuck on Alabama I’d go to GA, a lot of hogs to be had on public and private. You can apply for special hunts that are limited to access/permit.

My Dad bought a place in Gulf Shores and we are going to head down in the last week of March for spring break. Thought I would find something to do for a day hunting wise. I have searched some of the WMA’s like fulldraw stated. Figured with the booming population of hogs I could start there and work towards some turkeys in the following years. Now my attention has veered off to inshore fishing and maybe even bow hunting for stingrays. I have a lot of searching to do….fresh fish or bacon:confused:
