haha, no hard feelings! In 2019, I gave up the first weekend of November to take the family to Disney World.

Still walking since 9 this morning. Still have not jumped a single deer. Checking one last spot, then I'm done for the year.

I made it to 4 and that's all I could do. Most likely will be the last deer hunt of the year.

Dang things are just like us. Food plot? Hunt over it. Corn pile? Hunt over it.

Numerous traps out with 0 luck yet.

This year's LFTS has around 1000 less posts than last year's. Those are rookie numbers

That’s not entirely accurate. Last year I took an existing thread started by @Swamp Stalker and made it the LFTS thread.

When I did that it already had many pages full of posts.

Still, I think the group texts that teams are using now is having a huge negative impact on forum participation, both in the LFTS thread and especially in the team threads.

I wouldn't get involved in a group text situation again. Few years ago I did that and the guys were texting clear up until April or so. It about drove me crazy. But then again, I'm an old man, so lots of things bug me!

Forgot about that. And yeah the group chat does kill the forum. I'm in enough group texts that I despise as it is.

This season I decided to make a Team Captain group chat to discuss any issues that arose.

It very quickly turned into just another group chat with my phone lighting up all the time with random discussions so I ended up leaving the group, as I’m sure a few others did as well.

    It’s something I won’t do again.

Anyway, getting back to hunting, I still have a month of hunting available in Arkansas.

I want to get back there but we keep having ice storms. If it finally warms up and I get a few rain-free days I’ll get back there.

I did put a camera out on the WMA there and I’ve gotten quite a few pics but so far this is the best buck that’s walked in front of it.

Oh, and yes, I’d shoot him.

Group Me app. It is a texting app, but all notifications are silent. Once the season is over, you can leave the group or shut it down if you are the admin. I use it for all the sport teams I coach with my kids, season's over, that thread gets closed down. You only have to check it when you want, much nicer than group texting.

This is why this is the best thread. All info in one spot. The ultimate group text.
