No, I didn’t take it. I have enough to carry all the way back there without it.

That's exactly how it played out for me last night. I saw that buck turn 90 degrees and running before I arrow even got there. The reaction of these deer is insane this time of the year.

Your in the deer, just keep chugging along and keep after it!

I’m set up. I got here a full hour before first light. I’m a fan of getting on stand early.

It’s normally very peaceful but the roar of I-40 traffic is kinda ruining it.

Good luck Chief! The sound of the highway would definitely be annoying. The deer are used to it, but your head is going to be on full swivel mode because you most likely won't hear them coming.

About an hour ago I saw two deer coming up out of the grassy bottom. I was hoping they would head my way but they never got closer than about 90 yards. Couldn’t tell what they were.

    I don't think I could hunt that c

I couldn't hunt that close to an interstate. It bugs me when I hear a lot of traffic on the rural roads by me. Love it when I go to my public land spot. I'm at least a mile off the main road into the place and at least a quarter mile from the gravel road that meanders through the property. About the only thing I hear is this one guy who has a bad muffler on his 4 wheeler.

And the cattle that are about 2 miles away. I know when it's feeding time.

I don't mind the noise if I know the place is infested with deer. :)

I'm heading out. Same as last time, scout my way in for a couple hours, then setup when I find the deer. The wind is ripping, so going to try and get within 50 yards of there beds. Slow and steady. Will be going to yet a different property as previous hunts. Going to keep moving til season end.

Yeah, there is no hearing them coming, especially with everything being damp.

I didn’t see anything after the two at 7:00. I moved my stand a few hundred yards west. When I got down I did some scouting and found a massive trail coming out of the huge cedar thicket so I put my climber there and came back to camp.

I’ll get back on stand about 3:00.

Looks like my 10pt in MD has almost made it through the season. He seems to have broken almost all his points off, I can tell it’s him from the white growth in front of his back leg 7e9f4b35-66f9-44e0-b73b-ab91557fdd6f.jpg

Yeah but that wasn't the case for either of us this year.

Unless you want to include your hitch hikers. LOL

I'm up in a tree finally. Been walking for 2 hours and finally cut a buck track. Followed it back into a thicket. I'm in a ditch that drains into a river. The cattails come up into the woods and makes a nice pinch point. Jumped several deer on my walk. Also Jumped one right in front of were I'm set up. I will report what I see.

I’m up for the afternoon. This is a wooly place but that’s where they are: In the thickets.

Below are my views left, front and right. In the front view pic there is a massive trail intersection under the big cedar. To my right is a rub line with two recent scrapes. Behind me is open woods. I’m facing SW and the wind is out of the west. I’m supposed to have a south wind in the morning which will be even better.

Just had 2 big doe come in. I was turned the opposite direction and when I was turning my head to look. One picked me off from 50 yards. And this was thru some thick stuff too. Sucks because I've been staring that direction for last hour. Decided to turn and look behind for alittle bit. I was watching 2 raccoons when the deer came in. Never did hear them.
