Haha! I don't pay attention much what's going on in the world, just try and enjoy the things I like. Stupid deer definitely live rent free in my mind! Lol

Had 4 deer come out as soon as I got up in my stand. They started feeding my way for awhile, but turned 90 degrees and feed off over a hill.

No deer seen this AM. Back out about 230. Kids will be in blinds. I'll be under a tree umbrella. Rain is supposed to stop sometime in the last hour of shooting time. Hopefully they will get up and move.

I have my gear loaded and I’ll head back to Arkansas tomorrow morning.

I’m absolutely sick of wearing orange. I believe I’m ready for some more bow hunting.

We didnt see a deer yesterday, either sit. Been raining, foggy and I think they may be on to us. Last day with the kids. I'll bring them home tonight and come back by myself tomorrow. Temps are supposed to drop and it's going to dry out.

I have been looking at some arial maps and I may try two new public pieces and get off the farm for the rest of the week. I saw three Bucks during day light at one and the other has a nice finger of woods that juts out into bean fields and has water at the base of the finger. Think I'm going to leave the farm alone until I return the third week of January.

I had some thoughts on hunting that buck on our small parcel that I thought maybe would help some of you late season warriors. I hunted that same stand 6 ot 7 times and only saw one doe from the ground when I forgot my tree stand. I knew the bucks used that route pre rut and rut, but I stayed there because of the sheer number of acorns still on the ground and the route was well used by bucks all year. There isn't much food left on that woodlot aside from those acorns and I really wasn't sure if the deer would still eat them after being on the ground that long. That is the last thing that buck ate. He was munching acorns when I shot him. Good travel route and food was key for me. That and patience. The boundary constraints kind of forced me to stick to limited number of good spots, but I still think it's noteworthy.

Ha! Maybe there won't be that many people there anyway.

Cut to a sea of orange clad munchkins and their hen pecked dad's dying to get away from the holiday beat down they just went through.

It’s day 10 and the temps finally dropped some and I have a good wind for the standing beans. The idea of holding out for a 160+ buck just isn’t working. They just aren’t showing up on camera so now I’m looking for at least a 4 1/2 year old buck over the farm minimum of 140”
