Second straight day of rain here so I've not been back out. I have decided to put the copper up and go back to stainless steel the rest of the year! Maybe I still got a buck or two running around that can be my bolt catcher!
Heading out this afternoon. The rain finally stopped last night. Going to sit my ground blind with the xbow in hopes that something with horns strolls by. I'm not picky tonight. If it's one of the lesser bucks I've passed it will be in my sights tonight.
Had a good day on the marsh Saturday. It was the last day of rifle season and I still have room in the freezer.
I will be able to get out a few morning this weekend. I know that's not a great time late season but I have a lot of gatherings to attend the next two weekends. I'd really like a doe for the freezer and 50 points to go along with it. I went out last week Thursday night and didn't see anything. I didn't know that a family member had "creep hunted" the creek bottom earlier that day. The deer are still pretty nocturnal here but that should start to change toward the new year. Should line up nicely for the next time I see the pm shift. Good luck fellas.

They are delicious! Very comparable to elk. Only thing is you have to kill 2-3 to have the same amount of meat to a single whitetail.

Enjoy your vacation Entro! I'm out for awhile. Got family and farm commitments for the next week or so. Brother in-law went in this morning for a quad drouple bypass and I am managing a logging project on the farm. I will try and get out around Xmas and the new year looking for something with horns so we can get some more point. Normally I would call it for the season, but I have never had a chance to win this deal and want to help out any way I can. I'll take a Fergie if presented the opportunity!
