Sucks that you didn’t find him sooner but at least you have some closure. Nice buck.

I’ve been getting some interesting camera pics here on my home place. They don’t excite me much though because the bucks aren’t big, they’re night pics and mostly because I’ve already burned both of my archery “any deer” tags so I can only shoot a doe with my bow.

Scouted today and also grabbed a cam I had out for 4 months. Downwind of thicker cover. Not a lot of deer pics which was a bit surprosing but did pick up a good one in early season. Hope he survived. Area in general didn't have a lot of buck sign. Maybe they were just in there when those crops were in and have moved on....

Mark those days on next years calendar and be there. They are creatures of habit!

I will probably do some kind of skull cap with him, not sure if I can salvage a euro mount out of him. My friend bought a house in Kansas where the hunting land is, so I will keep it there. I actually have my mount from last year out there at the house. F4428FAC-5962-4C81-9BBF-0CD47A4A96C9.jpeg

That would really excite me because that’s your shooters for next year. I call it taking inventory.

I'm SOOO GLAD my tags are burned.
Snow/cold/wind can put even the toughest into mental despair
When they still have a tag.
Used to hunt in any weather God thru at me.
    Those days are long past!

I'm in the stand where I've seen the most deer this year. Edge of a swamp with a road not 100yds from me. I already had an unknown deer walk right under me. Too dark to tell what it was. Good luck all!

Sitting in Rivers blind. It rained all night. Hoping something will be on their feet. This is where hubby saw 3 big deer Monday afternoon feeding in the lane way.

    So you know what
    kind of season I've had
I saw a rack and that's all I needed to see. I'm shooting my open bead sight browning 20g. I watched him come up out of the swamp and get farther and farther away. I set up on where I thought he'd cross and waited. I dropped him in his tracks at 128 yrds.
Pic from him to Rivers blind in the back ground. One of my longest shots to date.
With as few doe as we have I'm happy to take a doe sized young buck over a doe for meat. 20221207_081450.jpg 20221207_080709.jpg 20221207_080640.jpg
