What inserts are out there that have threads on both ends? I'm looking come January to tinker with weights and a insert with threads on the inside would be great for adding/subtracting weight. Thank you Sent from my SM-G998U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I'm sure there are others, but I know that Gold Tip (GT) accu-lite inserts are threaded all the way through. They are just a "standard" 12 grain insert. I have been using them and then adding the F.A.C.T. weights to the back of them to get to the total arrow weight and FOC % I want. GT components were pretty scarce to find not that long ago, I don't know if that has improved yet or not.
I use the GT 'Fact' weights in my Goldtip inserts, you can either screw it on prior to gluing the insert in, or buy the tool to insert the weight from the nock end ... I usually put a dab of loc-tite on the threads just to make sure it wont come loose ..
I do not know what your arrow inside diameter is but I have been using these on my 0.244 ID arrows. I an running a 125 gr. insert with a 150 gr. broadhead on my trad. arrows, I also Loctite the screw-on 25 gr sections. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FBM1Y4G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used the Ranch Fairy field point test kit when figuring out what weight worked best for my setup. It is a little pricing but maybe comparable to cost of different inserts, etc. https://siriusarchery.com/product/ranch-fairy-field-point-test-kit/
Every insert I've ever used or seen has been threaded all the way through from top to bottom. I used to use the GT Fact weights and screwed them on to stock Easton, Gold Tip, Carbon Express and Black Eagle inserts over the years without issue.
