Ouch buddy! Hopefully you get some time out before you head down to Iowa for late season muzzy. In the meantime gonna try to this this doe killed before you get your buck
That depends on the outcome of bucksnbears’ track. At last report he didn’t have a good blood trail. If he does recover his buck (and I really hope he does) it will depend on what it scores as a half-rack.
Which reminds me I have to refine which load up I'm going to use one of these days I have, steal a day of potential hunting to hone the muzzy/scope set up in. Like to get a hunt or two in with it before departure...my one buddy wants like another 20 does off his big farm as he has WAY TOO many so target rich environment at some point is the plan with the ML. I do as well...I'm just tired of all the issues this year honestly. It's not gonna stop me from trying to put another deer or two in the freezer at some point...just not sure when or how (might just grab a gun and kick one).

Things worked out for me tonight. Funny story I’ll post tomorrow but I got a 7pt with the rifle tonight so I can let my spots cool like I hoped for a couple weeks. I’m super happy with it. Going out for beers and wings.
As little as it may seem to others, lessons were learned , and so much got out into perspective tonight. My boys, 8 and 6 sat down with me and helped me cut up my buck from 11/12, from start to finish. I’d be lying if I didn’t say that was the first time I’ve had fun processing a deer in many, many years. I did all the deboning and cutting, but they made the bags, labeled and packaged everything with very little help from dad. They messed up spelling, dates, and mismatched cuts but I didn’t care one bit. The one thing that I cared about was them asking me to do it again every time I shoot a deer. It hit me, and it hit me hard. I couldn’t help but shed some tears. It’s been a tough yet fulfilling night. I believe I’ve finally made it full circle with this whole hunting thing, and I like to think that I’m helping 2 little boys become great young men. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
oh there will be some attempts for sure, but I’ll be honest may be less than I’d prefer or normally would.
