The Dwayne Jones Award

I'm instituting a Dwayne Jones Award in honor of the blessing which was @SharpEyeSam to this board and all who knew him in real life.

I have amended the award due to communication issues - and honestly I think it was how it was intended all along!

The team which wins the forum contest, will be asked to privately submit votes to myself of who on their team exhibited the most Dwayne like behavior; stayed active, encouraged check ins and was always keeping the team going if you will...perhaps especially even in the face of adversity themselves or a teammate. It isn't an MVP award in the sense of who provided the most points, but who provided the most to the team in every sense of the of the word (could be the same, but not the intent).

In short, they behaved like that of a true team member everyone always loves having on their team - just as everyone always felt of Dwayne here and outside the forum.

Who is the lucky winner?

 

I think @B Hicks would be the winner. His buck scored 186 and pretty sure that was the biggest entered in this year's contest.

Sorry I've been MIA for a bit, @B Hicks is the lucky man. I'll PM him for the address and get the small trophy/plaque ordered to send out. Something we will keep rolling for as long as I can Lord willing do this!

I've messaged @B Hicks but zero response. Just updating folks. Once I hear from him and can place plaque order made in the name he desires I'll get it shipped out and share image of it. Sounds like Lester is going to also send something.

 

@Lester if @B Hicks fails to answer soon we will move on to perhaps presenting this award to the second biggest or perhaps the biggest buck on the winning team (if this I'll keep it going like that then moving forward).

I do get this but also don't want to just spin wheels here as well. Giving the award to the biggest buck of the winning team is not a bad concept actually.

 

Have officially amended first post, and forever changed the award and how it is picked. It now much more aligns with what Sam brought to his teams and just the forum in general - it wasn't about just big deer with our lost friend.

 

@LittleChief can we move this out of the 2022 archived threads? Maybe just move it into the regular bowhunting?

@entropyfx was voted by his team as the Dwayne Jones Award recipient for 2022. I'm going to at this point kill two birds with one stone and have both his and the 2023 award made by the local shop after the close of this year's contest and a new vote from the winning team.

 

Woah, didn't know he passed. Was going through old conversations that him and I had many years ago, wondered if he was still active or not, guess this answers that. Rest easy Dwayne.
