Wow, the flood gates opened up yesterday! Congrats to everyone that was successful!
It getting to be time to hunt hard here, should be within a week of chase phase and bucks finally showing up on my place. Plan to hunt all weekend. I do have a funeral to attend Saturday afternoon.
8 y.o. is going with me Saturday morning, will sit the blind with him along and take the muzzleloader for that hunt. Hoping to get in a Friday evening hunt and Sunday hunt with the bow. Wife may go Sunday morning, she'll sit the blind with her rifle while I bow hunt out of my climber.

Just sitting here...thinking of the deer.

Congrats to all you killers over the past few days. I've been following along as usual and I know I'd miss somebody if I tried to hit em all. Good to see some deer down. It seems like a slow year to me. I'll be back in the woods Thursday and the rut here is finally starting to heat up. Cameras are starting to catch a lot of bucks cruising and in daylight.

    Good luck out there

    Congratulations OND, Tacklebox, and Noods.

I didn't have any service last night. Thought it was going to happen on a doe. Three of them coming down 6 rows of picked corn right to my stand....but all were fawns! Dang it. Fun.

Out with a gun for the MI opener. Saw two 2.5 yo bucks go into bedding 80 yards away about the same time. I was hoping there was a hot doe in there. Later I saw a doe with, what I think, is a bigger 3.5 buck. Couldn't get a good look because snowing hard - passed on the shot. Then a doe comes in to 50 yards with dark tarsle glands, but no buck followed. Because of the buck activity around me I'll probably only shoot a buck today.

I know we can never predict when we will arrow a buck, but it seems like the first 5 days of November are overrated for buck movement, unless you hunt on a buck heavy area. Late October then maybe Nov 7 to 20ish seem superior....might be a good way to break up a vacation and be more efficient. I have no stats to back up what I'm saying. Lol.

Just butchered my buck and I have 1 hr to get ready for a job interview! Haha

I'm down. I saw 4 doe this morning, no bucks. But it was a very weird morning. These doe were the most skittish I've ever seen deer in my life. Every sound heads were whirling, they were jumping, I thought 100 % for sure there were bucks around but I never saw or heard any. They were constantly turning their heads, looking. No bucks anywhere. I'm not hunting this evening, but the rest of the week I'm there pounding away. Oh yeah, my daughter wants more meat, so I got another doe tag. Didn't find out though til after I had this monster of a doe this morning that was easy pickings. Oh well, I may not get a buck this week but I'm confident I can kill 2 more does!!!!!

I've never heard it referred to in that manner.
