I was going to sit tomorrow morning out and get some stuff done before I start back to work…. Think I am going to try something different . About 8 am the winds supposed to switch from southern to western …. I have good stand to hunt on a west wind that I just hung. North would be even better …but it’s high, 6 sticks ..maybe 25 feet up. I am going to gamble a bit and see if I can’t get an eye on him.
I used to hunt a utility line through the woods which looks almost identical to your picture. It was a great place for sitting during the rut.
I used a decoy the other day and had a small 8ptr entertain me. He came ~100yds across the field to posture and paw the ground in front of Fred. Fred is 20yds away. -fsh
WOW! just got caught up on all the great goings on in the team. Amazing bucks guys! I'm gradually getting to the point where it's going out for the fun and to get away and not just for the hunt. I have 2 weekends left here and my wife booked us for a stupid dinosaur exhibit on Saturday. I hope it's better than the Lion King Play. If does were on my tag, we'd have the 50 points. So far no bucks coming by any of my camera's the same family has been picked up several times. I've got a prospect on a buck from one of the guys in the NWTF but it's a long shot since its on a mountain I am not familiar with. About the same odds as still hunting where I'm at now.
Keep putting in the time Agi and it will all come together. A bad day hunting is better than most anything. Keep enjoying the good times. Think about what you get to see that us midwestern hunters(especially Indiana)don’t. Mountains and other sights. We see corn. Flat corn fields.
I will be out on doe patrol until 1/31/23. I’m going to whack one or die trying. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I highly consider trading this view & often. But then I face the reality, I’m a spoiled Californian and I’m trapped in this state.
