On a lighter note. Something has had to replace my bowhunting passion while I wait to visit family. So I have picked up pickleball and finally did well for a change. Placed second in a tournament last week.

It’s snowing hard on for Kentucky’s opening day of rifle! Very thankful for this blind and the ability to carry my bow, I’d say 80% of the deer I’d see will be in bow range but ya never know when a monster is hung up at 100 ! Had an awesome encounter with a nice buck last night. I had my decoy 20 yards from my blind and had a tall 9 point, probably 130” walk in just like on the TV shows with his head tilted and all swelled up. Figured that kind of encounter on day two of hunting this property and it being the first buck I saw, I Let him live to see another day! Back in the blind now waiting for another nice one! We are putting them does down boys that's what I like to see. Thanksgiving week can't get here soon enough. Then, first week of December I'm hunting Oklahoma so hopefully ill be bringing us in some points. How's everyone else looking?
In Florida, my wife and I are celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. It should be a good week for second doe breeding to find a buck or lone doe. Temps are super low in Illinois. If you got a gun tag, on private ground with permission and want to bow hunt you don’t have to skip gun season. Shoot’em straight and knock’em down. I will be back at it around Thanksgiving.
