Made it out tonight. Couple of does popped out. They went right instead of left and 45 yards was the closest they got to me. 1CBB1C0B-FBA4-419A-9916-B3291A792A5B.jpeg

I'm dangerously close to running out at this point as well (of whitetail). I believe I've only got two lbs of ground left and about 48ozs of roast left.
Thankfully I got the pronghorn and mule deer to subsidize my freezer for the time being.

I'll be getting out tomorrow at some point as well. I'm not sure if it'll be morning or afternoon sit, but I'll definitely be out.

Season opened for me last week. Been out 5 times, have not seen a deer yet. All my cameras are super slow. Hopefully things pick up soon.

One more day of work then 9 days off, then 4 days of work and then another 9 days off, then 3 days of work and 7 days off.

That's quite the future schedule. I'm sure you've put your time in the rest of the year but damn, consider me jealous.

I, unfortunately, won't get much time off during the season this year as my wife, kids and I are heading to San Diego for Christmas this year to spend some time with my sister, brother in law and their family. The same BIL that I'll be going to Montana next year to chase elk with the rifle!

Well got it done this morning about 9:15. He’s not one of the giants we have on camera but we said 8 or bigger for the season. Should be able to measure him Sunday

Nice work! If it gets your heart pumping, that's all that matters. I'm about ready to shoot a forky if given the opportunity, but that's just based off getting skunked my last two sits.
I've got a real nice 8 that showed up on the 20th and has now made daily appearances, outside of shooting times; but it seems to be that he's moved in to take over the area for the rut. Hopefully I can get the stars to align in the next two to three weeks!
If I would have been there last night, I could have doubled on does... but I'm giving that property a rest for now. It's just about time to go back in and put in the time!

I managed to harvest a buck in Kansas! This was my 3rd year traveling to Kansas to hunt, but this is the earliest we have went down there (always went in November and will try to go in November next time I get to go in future years). We were hunting public land (walk-in hunting areas) and managed to find a pile of scrapes on this one property. I shot this guy on Wednesday 10/26. 21 yard shot, double lunged him and he went maybe 60 yards. I got it all on video and couldn't be happier. We had a couple bigger bucks on trail camera but still nocturnal. This week would have been good down there. I will get him scored up this week and get it posted. Now to try and fill my PA buck tag and a few doe tags! IMG_20221028_083156_639.jpg 20221026_200012.jpg

Great job Ryan. That's a couple nice deer in rapid succession! I'm planning on getting out Thursday morning, Friday all day and Sunday. I'm hoping that Friday will be the day. Nice 15 temp drop with wind switching from SW to NW between Thursday and Friday.
Given that the next few days are going to be in the upper 60's to lower 70's, mid 40's will be a great change.

I think LC sent you a private message on your scoring. Let me know when you get a chance to update it it you haven't already. The captains have a group message going to they asked me to check in on it.

    thanks,
