Skyler and Dan congrats on the Doe! Just getting caught up on things… My Grandpa died last Thursday and the funeral was today. He was 90 years old. We had a really nice service for him today. Grandpa served in the Navy so had the honor guard - I think that’s what they call it and it was just really well done. My Grandpa and I were very close so it’s been a little difficult. I attend a family friends funeral on Monday as well. So needless to say I haven’t hunted much (only four times all year) in the last couple weeks. But I’m heading back out in the morning and probably tomorrow evening as well depending on the conditions. Here is a picture from my home office for something a little less serious…
This morning starts day 1 of my mini rutcation! I’ll be out from now through Sunday morning, hoping to have something good walk by me. I’ll keep you guys posted with what I’m seeing.
A buck we call high tower showed up this morning. He’s a stud! In 2020 he ran around with my split G2 buck I killed that year on Halloween. We also found his sheds next to our food plot in February 21. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

"Beer" camp still going on in Oklahoma for the last couple days of muzzle loader season. Hunting Arkansas this weekend. Bucks are starting to show up more during daylight. I had a young buck make a scrape on camera this morning. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
It’s been crazy slow here so far as I haven’t seen a deer yet! Cameras are still showing lots of activity, just all at night still. Hopefully that changes in the next couple days.
Thanks fellas. I hunted yesterday morning saw 10 deer total. 4 doe. 4 fawns. One spike. One basket 8. No shooters. Hunted tonight 3 doe. 1 fawn. And a 120ish 8 point under my stand for 15 mins at last light - heard him walking into my position grunted him in the rest of the way because I didn’t know what he was. So close. Not a buck I would have shot. Hunting in the morning… Considering the same stand or a different property. Will be a last min decision I’m sure.
My son shot a doe yesterday evening. He was pretty sure he hit it high. She never really ran, just kind of milled around after the shot. He found a little blood last night. We went out this morning and from what I saw it was probably just a flesh wound. We found 10-15 scrapes in a small area, including a huge one 15 yards from my stand and a heck of a rub line! Working this evening but it's raining anyway. Will be out in the morning. Hopefully he'll come freshen up his scrapes. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
There is a big rub line and several more scrapes relatively close to my stand. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Early this afternoon I had a doe and two button bucks feed around my stand for about 45 minutes. At about 6:15 a small 8 pt walked by, 10 minutes later a heavier, narrow racked 8 pt and just before end of shooting light a 6 pt at 15 yards. No shooters but the young bucks were on the prowl. Finally have a respectable buck on camera in Arkansas. I'll probably shot him if given the chance. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Working till Thursday, have military duty Friday through Sunday, then I’ll be hunting Monday-Sunday. Got some good bucks starting to show up. Should be a great week of nonstop hunting! My buddy also took the week off so we should have loads of fun at least! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heading to SD on Thursday! Looks like a nice cold front coming in hoping for some hot action! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
