Good! I just hadn’t heard from you in a while.

I think I’ll get back on stand tomorrow for at least one sit. I don’t have any buck pics in daylight but I have quite a few does asking to die so I might take one of them given the chance.

My body count is low this year.

You need to! Then towards the end of next week you need to head north and kill one of those giants!

Morning ritual and heading to the stand! It’s a nice 42 degrees this morning. I’m heading to the property I shot my doe early last year in hopes to repeat. Good luck to everyone else heading out, stay safe guys.

Guys if you shoot a deer please make sure you have your bow in the photos. If you get the shot on film make sure you also film the recovery and have your bow in the recovery video as well.

    That is all.

    Good luck champs!

Trial run with the hazmore seat and the 3rd hand Archery bow holder. Seat definitely needs to be tightened up when I get home and the way the bow holder sits I need to take my quiver off for my bow to fit. I adjusted my back straps on my climber definitely need to tighten them back up also.

Ended up seeing 3 deer. Came to full draw on a big doe but she stopped in a very dark lane at 27 yards and I had a very hard time finding her in my peep so didn’t want to risk a potentially bad shot an hour and a half into the season.

Great to hear most of team will be out hunting.

South wind yesterday afternoon, decided to hunt same food plot my biggest buck frequents. Six does and fawns went past from 20-30 yards. Buck wasn't with them. Time to hunt different stands and shoot a doe.

Little Chief big thanks for telling us about ozonics when our team 1st got together. I bought a ozone generator for my hunting clothes last year. Seemed to work great for my clothes. Bought ozonics hr230 model for stand use when it was on sale. I'm amazed how good they work. Had multiple deer down wind in tree stand and blind and they never had a clue I was there.
One evening in a tree stand was down wind of bunch of does maybe 60 yards away when wind died down to completely calm. Some does started looking my way and started lifting heads smelling. Couple does walked to 20 yards trying to locate the smell. They never acted at all alarmed, they acted like they liked the smell. Hope it works the same on big bucks.

Good luck to team out hunting.

Was hoping to be out this evening but I decided against it because my boys wanted to play outside. I’m now sitting in a lawn chair debating if I should call 911 from lack of oxygen.

Sorry to hear that Ty. I really hope they feel better soon.

I almost made a joke about me being one of the "Littles" but I decided it would be in bad taste.

I am considering loading up and heading back to Kentucky Monday morning. The farmer texted me and let me know that the corn had been harvested and that they are working on the soybeans now.

Depending on what crops are in the field and where they are plays a big part in how successful I am there during the early season. This year it just sucked for the opener. The soybeans were turning yellow, the corn wasn't in any location I could hunt and all of the rain that fell while I was there wiped out any advantage of hunting water sources. With the corn still in the fields the deer just weren't coming into the small wood patches to bed down. I'm thinking they will be now, especially since they've started cutting the soybeans.

The farm they call the "home place" had corn on it when I was there last month, but the field edges were grown up with grass and weeds over my head and I wasn't willing to wade through that for a quarter to a half mile to hunt. I'll have access through the field at that place this trip if I go.

If I do go I plan to leave some time on the "Pink 120 Challenge" bet account to allow for a trip back to mid-west Missouri to hunt the new moon from the 23rd to the 26th. The last time I was there for the new moon in October I hunted 2 1/4 days. One day I was stuck in my stand all day because of movement and the next day I killed my best bow buck ever at 7:30 am.

We will see how things go. At least my shot to kill ratio is better this year at 1 for 1.

Ty hoping your family gets well fast.
I remember those days, young kids sick and not knowing how sick and wondering if they need to see doctor or not.
