    Rain got here early, so neither option happened. So got split some firewood and will be a day with family. My heart wanted me to hunt, but My gut was kind of telling me to go this route and glad I did.

    While I don’t think there is much need in being on stand before 5:30 today, I’m here and set up.

    Just as I got set up my phone vibrated. It was a hunting buddy of mine from Arkansas so I answered it quietly. The first thing I heard was three 70 year old men singing this:

    “Happy Birthday to you.
    Happy Birthday to you.
    You look like a swabbie
    and you smell like one too”.

    It made me laugh. :lol:

    Okay, bring on the birthday buck!

    This hasn't happened to me for a long time but I got so thoroughly irritated in the woods trying to set up that I'm leaving. I didn't even get to try out my new setup. Ended up getting into no man's land and just making so much noise and the wind was swirling everywhere that after 2 hours of walking I said f it.

    Happy birthday LC!

    Just got home from elk camp. Zero bugles this weekend. Very weird year. Only heard two bulls respond, both last weekend. Saw two bear and one cow. Cow slipped in quietly yesterday evening and was at 62 yards, but saw me when I moved, I didn’t realize she was there. Had a good rain a couple days ago and it was still pretty damp, amazing she could still come in without my hearing her.
    Congrats to the successful deer hunters this weekend!
