I went out for the first time this season
    Jumped two bucks walking in
Then a doe spooked by the stand which was captured in the camera
At 1900 a fork buck walked straight in & milled around the bottom of the stand & left without incident
    Nothing further

Just dropped the vacation hammer on work. Took off from October 26-Nov 9. The 18th for good measure and the week of Thanksgiving. Don’t know what I’m more excited about all my hunting time or all the meetings I will miss.

Transition from summer patterns to Fall patterns is in full swing. The last three days I have started getting pictures of bucks that have not been there all summer. I am fortunate in that I have some properties where they filter in and start hanging out just in time for season to open instead of the other way around. Then, around the 26th of October, all bets are off and I never know what I might see. But normally there are a few surprises.

In all those meetings probably close to 20 to 25 people I’m the only one that hunts. Couple of the sales guys hunt but they are in different meetings. I’m the odd ball or the only sane one and the rest of the group doesn't know what they are missing.

Well fellas, big brain fart, our season opens this weekend, not next weekend which is what I had in my head.
So, I guess I’ll hit the woods this weekend. Temps dropped quite a bit, so I got that going for me. Maybe I can tag an opening weekend Buck.

Got my saddle and fanny pack packed. Going to hit the woods in the AM, maybe PM depending if I can’t find a good enough reason not to go to a wedding.
I’ve never had luck in the morning, usually won’t hunt morning early season, but it’s a little cooler than usual. So, we’ll see what happens.

Cooled down here, chance of frost tonight. Hunted thursday evening saw around 15 deer with zero bucks with them.
Tonight hunted a different spot, had a big buck following a doe group they went by maybe 70 yards away. I hope he keeps following does in daylight.

Good luck to rest of the team hunting.

Well not making it out…I run a fundraising campaign each year through our church’s softball team and really should make a point to be an adult and collect funds pledges at services this week.

we raised over $10,000 for beds for kids in our community that otherwise sleep on floor.

    Thanks for asking Ash.

I’m actually doing a lot better. I was going to try to get in a tree this afternoon but we had severe thunderstorms roll in.

Rained on and off here most of the day. I still have 1 piece of property I hunt I have not made it onto yet. I hate to do it so close to season but if I get a break in the weather tomorrow morning I’m going to go up there and check my 2 stands over. I’ll be taking the wheeler in to help transport all my crap, pole saws etc. I didn’t spend a couple hours working on my wheeler today. Finally got the new axels on the back, oil changed and gear oil added. It’s been a while since any of that has been done. I’ll see what kind of job I did tomorrow if no wheels fall off or there is oil leaking everywhere. My mechanic skills are terrible or fixing anything for that matter I struggle. If I get a light bulb changed without an issue that’s a victory for me.

Well fellas zero hunting but sunday showers had me checking cameras....which turned out bad just like the whole year LOL

First property, cam checks all went great, plots look excellent but the main camera where I kill all the bucks there apparently card didn't get formatted so no pictures....so no intel there. However all the other cams on this property yielded zero bucks that make me itch, neither would break 120 i'd guess...well the one may with his 20 inch spread (if not he is pushing it).

My personal property was a disaster, due to theft issues in past I need a step ladder...no biggy keep one in the truck for cam checks.......cleaned out truck this past week one evening and apparently it is no more.

UGH....so walk around the property check what cam I can, food plots here are growing but not nearly as good as the other property...jump a little yearling 6 pointer bedded in my clover plot and didn't bring enough batteries to hang a new camera I got to watch a scrape. LOL

Story of my season, life priorities have pulled me off of season prep more than ever before, the fire to get out is less and then this......LOOKS LIKE I"M KILLING A BOONER AGAIN THIS YEAR LOL :nana::lmao2:

Have no worries, I'll put down two deer for this contest. Even if that is a late season scrub buck...we ain't missing our three peat!

Yes Ty having your hunting own land isn't so great some times.
My neighbor who owns big chucks of land next to me came over Sunday morning. Poacher shot a buck in his field at night from the road and just left it .

Good east that’s freaking horrible. I hope they brag about it and get popped even though if they get anything it won’t be what they deserve.
