I'm totally different then most people! (And kinda proud of it)
I try to get kids out of school "sports" and get them interested in the woods/waters.
And I can't figger out why people don't hunt mornings this time of year?
The "talk" seems to be, "I'll bump them going in".
Well guess what! Your gonna bump them on the way out in the evening.

If you desire, hunt when you can,!!
I never cared about about an "occasional bump".
Does aint gonna change their home range.
    Bucks KNOW that.

I don't mean to sound like an ass but I've hunted HARD for 40+ years for many critters and I quite thinking about "what we should do" years ago.
Have had incredible morning hunts early in the year.

I believe what it is (and I'm guiltyas hell myself) is its just harder to get up in the morning and be motivated.

Last year opening morning we had a front move through. I left work early three hours and was able to get in before daylight. Set up on a saddle coming back from a lot of oaks bucks were feeding on. Tore up with rubs and scrapes that I found weeks prior. Walking in I bumped what sounded like a large deer. Set up right there. 20 minutes after daylight he walked by me at 10 and I shot over him at 30…..somehow…giant 8. Moral of the story. I hunt any chance I get! Just try to adapt..do have a small private piece though that I probably wouldn’t attempt that on early season myself. No bedding at all on it. There I truly feel I have done more harm than good hunting it early in general. If you’re limited to properties I could see why people would sit it out. Luckily I have 30,000 acres to play with so I go in guns blazing! Not literally…lol

I was in no way disparaging morning hunts or those who like to hunt them. I just have rarely had success early season going in the morning. I've killed does, sure and had a blast doing it. I get excited to go and don't have an issue getting up early for the most part when it comes to hunting especially. I don't have issues with morning hunts. I just don't do them in the early season unless I have something patterned and I don't.

I’m currently trying a morning hunt My first sit of the season. Temps here in MN dropped 30 degrees over night and the pressure is over 30. I’ve already seen 4 does and a fork. I don’t have a lot of morning trail cam pics of big bucks in sept but you just never know. Just fun to watch the sun come up and hear the birds singing..

    Good morning y’all.
Sorry I’ve been quite lately. Work has taken over my life at this point and it’s to damn hot to hunt down here in Louisiana. Don’t think I’m not tracking our group. I pop in and catch up.

I think we have all been checking in rather regularly and that's awesome. Season of monsters is about a month out in my best guess. Stay active boys

Has to hire a guy today. I wanted to get my roof done.
He's an older guy and retired but a go_getter.
    He worked is azz off!
Feels good to have that part done.
God, I wish the younger generation knew what work was.
Grabbed a Sixpack and took a cruise.
Lots of deer moving this evening.
    Only got to about 60*today.
    Felt good to be alive.

Temps got me feeling "killing" but I gotta wait.
    It's coming team.:fro:

Started last night for 2 hours then 10 hours today. Got 750 pounds of seed broadcast by hand in the beans on 10 different farms in Iowa. Drove around the last couple hours and saw a pile of deer including 4 150-170 inch bucks and one GIANT! My Azz is wore out now.

I'll be headed to the foothills Saturday morning. I'll squeeze in a couple of sits while I'm there. I thought I'd have more time to hunt, but I guess my Dad needs a hand with a few things. That comes first. I should knock all that out pretty quick and he will probably insist I go hunt and handle stuff later. He's good like that. Man, I'm excited to hit the woods!

Just left the shop and I have my nephew rig all set up and tuned as much as possible without him. It's a Bear whitetail legend pro and (from a Mathews guy) this bow is freaking awesome. Waiting on the sight to ship and he will be ready to kill Oct 1

Big props to Ridge for his selfless generosity!

Sweet! Get that bow in the blood! Glad to be a part of it and yes we do have to look out for our own.

What sight did you go with? That's my next year's big spend.
