My father in law and I built a platform for an enclosed blind for him and my son to muzzleloader hunt out of. I thought, “hey wtf, I’ll sit there tonight.” He came in about 20yds and browsed for a bit. I shot at what I thought was 30 and spined him. He was only 24 when I ranged after I finished the job. Quartered up and in the cooler. Backstrap is going on the grill soon. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums

Great job man. Did you cook up some backstraps? Started renovating a room recently to make a nice walk in shower for my wife. Complete gut, all new plumbing, new window, spray foam insulation, and tile. I’m DIY’ing this project and a little stressed over the planning. My wife has MS and life moved to a wheelchair for her last year. Trying my best to accommodate her struggles but I sure could use some treestand time.
I did make a backstrap with potatoes and fresh grilled orange and green peppers. Sorry to hear about your wife. Saturday morning when I was sitting in my stand breathing in the fresh air and listening to the birds and squirrels sound off around me (with the occasional turkey) I forgot about the stresses of life and the hustle of the grind. Felt amazing. I put an all new bathroom in the basement. Did it all myself except the plumbing. Didn’t trust myself with a jackhammer and a German saw.
Planning on getting out Wednesday for my first hunt. 12° drop from 78° to 66°. Then a high of 59° on Thursday.
Congrats! Didn't even dawn on me the other day in LFTS that you were on our team Been MIA for a few days, apologies for missing out and not seeing this.
No worries! Certainly not a 150+ that everyone hopes for but the experience was the trophy for me. New property, that I own, in a new stand, that I built. It is certainly a memory.
