Hey guys……..been in the contest from day 1 many years ago so it’s a pleasure to make another run at it with you. I hunt some of the finest land NY has to offer with legit chances at some very solid bucks. Whatever I end up doing or not rest assured I will give it all I have.

    I like Field of Beams

Thanks Guys! It was my pleasure.
What sent covers or deodorants do you all use, if any?

I use scent free deodorant. For cover scent I buy a stick of Evercalm every year. Put a little on my boots. Rub a little on my tree.
Can’t say I’ve ever seen it attract deer, but I don’t get busted much either.

I generally use dove unscented bar soap and unscented deodorant September until my season is done. Haven't started this year yet. I was always a fan of the Primos Earthblend scent killer mainly use it on my boots.

My absolute favorite cover scent is Fitzgerald's Deer Dander. I always have a bottle or two of it on me.

Try to play the wind but previous years property I hunted was down in the bottoms surrounded by ridges so the wind would blow all 4 directions and in between regardless.

I use duke cannon hunting soap and unscented deodorant starting after my sons birthday on 9/9. Then either use Code Blue or Dead Down Wind spray. Obviously hunt the wind as best I can.

I like the Evercalm also. Had to look up the duke cannon.

I wash my clothes and the hang them outside for the sun to sit on them. For my boots I will keep mud dried on them for help with scent control.
I’ve had real good luck with my scentlok one piece coveralls for scent control.

I know I will be in the minority but I don’t use any special soap, just whatever I have in my shower… deodorant I use the same that I use every day Mitchum gel. I don’t use any cover scents or any deer scents or lures.

I'm slowly moving this way. I do like to cut down on heavy fragrance, but I do not believe anything reduces human scent.

Some of the days I have had the best sit I woke up way late and just had to hit the road. No time for a shower, no time to spray down, just get to the property get dressed and hurry to stand.

I do believe for my drawn hunt this year prevailing wind will work to my advantage. Anything south to west will work. Never had that before

Yea, we use Tide free and clear laundry detergent, it has no dies or fragrance. I just wash all my cloths together. I don’t use a scent killer spray stuff either, I just haven’t seen any noticeable difference.
All that said, if using scent killed gives you confidence then go for it.

Yep, most of what we buy is from the human perception. I like how a magazine picture looks, or how my 5% nose equivalent evaluates it. First time I used it killed my best buck yet...

All about the confidence factor, 100%.

I've killed a mature buck with a PSE Stinger, Bear Attack, Wicked Ridge Invader G3(Crowsbow) and an Obsession HB33(think that is the model) and every one of them was just as dead as the last.

Hunt how you feel most comfortable and confident, it does more than any gimmick ever will.

Agreed cls74. There is no silver bullet. Ou are always going to smell. I’ve always looked at it as if I can minimize it or cover it maybe the deer will think I’m further away than I am. If they have the wind, they are probably going to smell you no matter what.

I am in the same camp. No special deodorant or sprays. I do use Hunter Specialties laundry soap but only because it gets every stain out including blood.

They smell you most times before you ever see them, every now and again the wind swirls and they get you, but I doubt any man made product would alter that scenario.

Same thing with visuals, usually movement, even whem we think we don't, puts them on edge looking directly at us.

I can smell weed in a crowd, but how do I know who's smoking unless I see them raise the joint? I think it's the same way for deer in a stand of trees.

Eff it, this is the year. I'm wearing jeans and the red/black flqnnel shurt I bought a year or to ago to prove it. Hunting ground this year that I have never hunted so I can't question knowing the area for result.

For the avatar makers, can you use the same image we're currently agreed upon and add a japanese sunshine pattern to the background?

Just think that would make it pop. I might be wrong and no need to change, just curious to how it would look.
