Where are the deer pics Team 12. What you after? Word on the street is you can only score your bucks for the contest if it scores better then last year. Special rules for a special team....

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with my ex-son in law last night. He wants me to come up there and hunt the Missouri opener with him.

I was really excited about getting after the 10 and the 8 I have here at home, but I’m going to head there on the 14th for opening day on the 15th.

You guys have already seen a zoomed in shot of the two bucks in the right in the first pic that shows the buck I winged last year and almost ruined my season.

The buck on the left in the second, third and fourth pics is another regular there. He appears to be a big 13 point. I have no idea what he will score.

Anyway, those two will be our primary targets, but you all know it will be tough for me to let 125”-130” bucks walk.

I'm afraid what's going to happen for me is that during this trip to Kentucky a 110-120 velvet buck is going to give me a shot.

I've wanted a velvet bucks so bad for so long and I know I'm going to shoot even though I know that two weeks later I'll be chasing big bucks.

Man, it's tough being a mediocre hunter sometimes.

The real question is does he have enough stands for the rest of the team to come to MO? lol

Fletch probably wouldn't shoot either one of those bucks. Too small.

    It's been a while.

I might shoot the first little 6 pointer that walks by and blame it on all the pressure I am getting from tynimiller. :poke:

I'll be the first to say it: Don't do that! I'd be okay with the first 140 that walks by, but not six point.

LOL I know you're lying now. I will say you may have to come off your not shooting BIG 8s though if you want to keep your roster spot LOL

You keep doing you brother, you're blessed with above average locales and should have high standards just from that, but you've also shot so many awesome bucks I don't blame you for one second being picky!!

I sure won’t be drawing first blood for the contest this time. It’s already been drawn.

I only know because of the Bowhunting.com Facebook page, and like someone else said, “Holy Mother of God!”

Cage diving with sharks was a success although 1/2 the boat puked (babies)
Being in the cage was like standing in a roller coaster…rough is an understatement
    All good though
    9 days more
Then home & the hunting begins

For those of you who didn’t know, South Africa is a Coke town.
However, with Lucky & $400 Rand ($20) I have a 6 pack of Mountain Dew now

    Nebraska season opened yesterday
Temperatures back home are high 90s
Low 80s upon my return home on the 11th
I’ll be out soon afterwards as this is my first season as a retired worker & full time hunter

Two things, I got the itch to cruise the Cabela's site, didn't see anything I "need", but I would like a new pack.

During my scouting, I walked two tractor paths cut in the bean fields, lots of buck poop. During the velvet/chigger infestation hunt, 6 of the bucks I saw took these trails. So, I knew in my head I needed to set an early season stand on the other trail, so that is probably what I'll be doing this weekend.
Somehow, the trail is within 30 yards of the wood line, so I should have a nice chip shot on the buck I want. Only issue is the tree line is pretty thick, so I need to fins decent spot where I'm not making a mess clearing a few lanes. I'll use this as my early season afternoon stand, then transition into the woods as the season progresses.
This is the layout, the orange lines are the tractor tire paths, I'll setup at the lighting bolt point since there is a nice trail/transitions to the lower fields & path to across the creek. Plus, there is a nice path running that wood line, and a few persimmon tree and a big ol acorn tree.
