I live in the southern most county in the state. Lawrence County. I also hunt in Gallia County as well.

I'd shoot him any day. Probably wouldnt score much, but he'd be a great one for the wall cause hes such a freak.

I attempted to start a what's app group. As of now it's just me Mongo and cml. Send me a private message if you want to join. Another perk of the chat is you can share pictures with just the team and not the world wide web if you are so inclined lol I don't have crap for pictures though

Ga has some studs roaming the pine forest and oak bottoms, , Im still waiting on a big 8 to show back up, he disappears in the spring and shows back up in september/october every year, Ive had him on cam for 4 years so far, last photo I got was in February this year. I think he will be 5.5 or 6.5 this season, .heres a pic of him from last fall

Anyone on the team run portable sets? I’m trying to spend 95% of my hunts in a mobile hang on this year, much like last year. I need to be more efficient at it. Does anyone have a tip carrying climbing sticks as you go up the tree?

CM, I've done this with some success. Depending on the tree. No lower branches. My best .02, is to setup your first stick. Tie off second stick to pull rope. Start your climb using lineman's belt on to first steps, once up so far, pull up second set, then proceed to tie off. Once second set it set, climb down for next set and repeat same steps until all at set. If enough rope is available, you could tie of all sticks to each of their own pull rope.

I like the idea of having loops and attaching all 4 sticks to pull up. My worry is bouncing sticks off of the ones already hung. I have a little bit of time to try and get a good system. Thanks for the input!

I'm also going to run more run and gun this year. I have a muddy harness and there are a few places I can easily loop them in to myself and just climb up the tree. I haven't done it alot of times yet though I'm about to start practicing again this weekend

Headed down to Hueston woods tonight after work for the long weekend, gonna do a little scouting, fishing and shooting(they have an outdoor archery range). Girlfriends got her bow now, and she's excited to shoot.
They don't allow hunting until October 15th, but I'm gonna try to get a general idea this time. At least a starting point.

What i've done to my sticks, is put camo tape on my sticks. It helps, with reducing the sound from metal to metal contact. It also helps with the grip(hands/feet), and lastly...blends my sticks with the surroundings!:ninja:
