Anyone use Rage Hypodermic Broadheads?

I found a promo code and got 3, 4 packs for $40. I’m kinda worried they won’t open. Anyone use them?

 

I'd use em on squirrels/ rabbits n such.

 

Yes zero issues thus far

Yeah... I use 'em.
For a 2-blade broadhead, I was shocked to see the size of the entrance & exit holes they cut.

 

SOOO Many better options.
Boggles my mind the people who STILL fall for them.

Don't let people tell you what they think you should use. Rage makes a quality product that millions have used successfully. I have used Rage in the past never had a failure.

Just like the Main Street media, you but enuff $$ out there and "try to convince " people Its the "Bomb", there will be enuff fools to fall for it.

I trapped a wolf once in a fox trap "once" and held it.
But have them pull apart a much more stought trap.
So that fox trap should be good enuff to use?

Just wanted to address something. In OP you mentioned getting packs for roughly 10 a piece. I know they make a Chinese knock off for them that look very much like the real thing but do not perform correctly. I have shot rage and enjoyed them when I did. Then I found a "great deal" and found that they whistled and didn't open and wouldn't tune and etc. I can't speak for you but I've been duped before. Good luck

assuming you got real Rage heads, Hypos are deer killers for sure but of the appx. 7-10 deer I have shot with them, most had a blade snap at the 'shock collar' notch, sometimes even when not hitting any bone at all (slipping between ribs.) A couple of them even had both blades snapped at that point. So it goes from being a 2" cut to appx. a 1" cut, and an adventure gutting them hoping you don't cut yourself on the broken blade inside.

That being said, I have never lost a deer I shot with one and always had good blood trails. But I will not be buying first-gen Hypodermics any more. The newer styles have a slightly less aggressive notch so maybe that will do the trick.

 

Thanks for the insights, boss. Mechanicals have many more potential points of failure for sure but I'll give them a crack either way. It's the 2" cut that roped me into giving them a go. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up back on a fixed muzzy or ozcut but we'll see how it plays out on some pigs and deer over the next couple of months here in Oz.

I'm certainly not extreme on one or the other. All hold merit.

FWIW, my mech broadhead of choice is a Muzzy HB. Nasty, bone busting tough MFers. But plenty of good choices out there.

 

I prefer the Muzzy hybrid mechanicals, no blade retention and have the fixed cutter to go with the deploying head. I only wish they made them in 125 grain. Another thing about mechanicals they work great on a heavier arrow 475 grains and above.

 

make sure they arent knockoffs. i shoot them and pay 40.00 for a three pack . never had a problem with them. still takes a good shot placed in the kill zone
