    I checked last years sign ups a few days ago and we are behind by about 15 ppl for that day. Doubt we've caught up since.

    Nah...from what I recall, last year we were practically begging ppl to sign up around the deadline. I'm pretty sure it has been a trend for a few years now and I've only been a member here for six years. Wow. That seems crazy. Time flies and hell, I've added another ex wife to the list since then. :beer:

    Forums just aren't as popular as they used to be. Not enough "instant" gratification type items and heaven forbid if folks have to formulate longer than a sentence of thought LOL

    Over the years here I can genuinely say numerous friendships exist thanks to this place..and it could shut down tomorrow and I'd still have many of them (saved in my phones with their forum name LOL ).

    There has been a slow, steady decline in contest participation over the past few years.

    I will be surprised if we have as many this year has we did last year.

    Brad has an email that is going to be “shotgunned” out tonight letting every member know the sign-ups are open. I’m getting myself ready for the inevitable.

    Every time we send one of those emails out there are a bunch of folks who either don’t see the post count minimum or just ignore it so I have to do damage control on the sign up thread.

    I'll never forget when I lived at the hospital years ago by my grandmother's side as she died, often my phone would alert me to a text or a call...family when there would ask who was that...and it was shocking how often my response was "one of my bowhunting.com forum brothers" @SharpEyeSam I swear asked for an update every morning and evening there for a time.
